I pushed open a door, and shielded my eyes when the bright sunlight came out. I smiled. I looked around, grinned, and spontaneously hugged the guy who'd been kidnapped along with me. "We're still in New York!" I laughed, and spun around. "This makes my life so much easier." -

"Where are you from?" I asked. I glanced around me, and saw the Empire State Building. "Manhattan," I sighed.

I smiled. "Hannah," I said. "Welcome to New York, Jake. Welcome to my home." I found a car wash station, and shrugged. "This'll do for now. I'll ask Chiron if he can send Argus to come pick us up." I remembered that I didn't have any U.S. money, or a golden drachma. I tapped a woman on the shoulder. "Hello, ma'am, I've recently- MOM?!" I shouted in surprise.

Demeter took off her sunglasses and smiled at Jake and me. "Hello Hannah," she said happily. Beautiful day, isn't it? The sun is shining, the leaves are golden, and you're here." I blinked. "Uh, mom, what are you doing here?" Mother laughed. "Making sure you don't die, of course! Don't worry about the Iris Message, dear, I've already sent for Katie." I turned around to Jake. "Jake, this is my mother, Demeter. Mom, this is Jake, who was taken along with me." I shook my head. "But I don't know why they did. Or how we got away so easily."

Mom shook Jake's hand. "Good day, young man," Her pretty green eyes sparkled, and she smiled wide. "Oh, this one's a strong young man," she muttered. "Not just physically, but mentally and spritually too." Mom turned to face me. "Don't lose sight of him, Hannah. he's powerful, but not a demigod." A white van pulled up next to the car wash, and a girl about my age jumped out, ran, and tackle-hugged me. "Hannah!" she cried. "Katie!" I laughed. "Jake, this is my half-sister, Katie Gardener." Katie stuck out her tongue at me, and shook Jake's hand. "Hiya jake. Hey Mom!"

PGZ2018 Newbie"Hi, Nice to meet you" I said holding my hand out again for her to shake it. I was a little shy because I didn't know any of these people so I kept quite until someone said something to me then I would answer.

Katie noticed Jake's reclusion, but shrugged. "I guess you're coming with, 'cause Mom said we'd be taking two people." She hugged Mom goodbye, and ran back to the van. "We've got a mortal!" She shouted. There were a lot of murmurs, and I heard someone- probably Clarisse- say loudly, "Can I beat him up when we get to the hill?" Other children of Ares snickered. I turned to Jake. "Don't worry about Clarisse." I said. "She's a daughter of Ares, so likes to put on a tough-guy act."
"I heard that, punk!" She shouted. Me and the other campers laughed. "C'mon, Jake, let's meet the rest of the gang." -
PGZ2018 Newbie"Okay" I said. I walked to the back and tryed to find a seat but there was to much people in the van.
