I stepped out of the way. Maybe the mortal could bring it down without me almost dying.

"Monsters," I whispered, smiling, and thanking the gods for my empathy link with Ian, a satyr. "It isn't safe down there." I told the boy. "Monsters." I clarified.

I sighed. Of course he faints. Like I can just go downstairs and the monsters won't get him too. I start dragging him up the stairs and back to the room, where Ian said it'd be safer. Just as I reached the door, someone caught me around the throat. "Thought you could escape, did you?"

I gasped, and the hand gripped my neck tighter. "Now, now, sweetie, we don't want to kill you. You're very special, aren't you?" "I'm not!" I said. "I'm just a nobody. Why would you care? And why'd you bring us here, anyway?" The guy holding my neck turned to face me. "Because the two of you are really important to my large plan. "And I don't want to lose either of you." He kicked the boy's side, and I winced. "D-don't hurt him!" I managed to say, before i balcked out.
