  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. *Riley's POV* I grumble the whole way to my room. What does Amber see in Eric and Tyler? There annoying and just always in the way. Eric stays in front of me, and for a spilt second I consider shoving him. But what good would that do? He would get pissed, and we would fight. And then someone would tattle and Amber would hear about it. Tyler would get her then, and I don't want to see her with anyone else besides me. Maybe I should ask her out. We could go to a movie, or I could take her for a ride. I'm lost in all the things we could do. "You still here?" Eric's snapping his fingers in my face. "What?" I blink, trying to get where I am. Had I really thought that I was somewhere with Amber? Man I need help. Now. Eric unlocked the door and he's standing in the doorway. "You coming?" He asks, inpatience clear in his tone. "Yeah." I snap at him. I walk in and he shuts the door. It takes a lot to make Eric upset, so me annoying him for a few hours would mean that we've been at each other's throat's. We stand there in the dark of the room, quiet awkwardly. I'm the first one to brake, not something I'm happy of. I walk over to the bed, sit on the edge and take my shirt off. I hear Eric's bed groan and the sheets making a smacking sound. I pretty sure we both lay down at the same time. I can't believe after years of friendship all it takes is one girl to bring it down. But Amber's worth it.
  2. Amber's POV* Lilly's room is painted a bright green color. Why she painted that color I'll never now. Her bed is a sky blue and the air in her room always has a mint tint to it. She's on her computer when I walk in. "Hey Lilly." I say. She looks up and smiles at me, her blond hair falling in her face. "Hey you! I heard you weren't here yesterday night at all. Care to share where you are?" She asks. I hesitate, not sure what I should say. But I trust her, so I'm sure she could be quiet. I sit on the edge of the bed and tell her about how Tyler asked me out, how Bianca and Olive made me upset, and what happened on the roof. She raises her hand in the air, smiling while she does it. "Can I ask questions now?" She ask. I nod. "Ok, first one. Bianca and Olive are still botherning you?" "Yeah. But it's ok." I say quickly, not wanting her to do anything about it. "Oh please, it's so not ok. I'm going to talk to them about this." "No!" I nearly scream. Lilly raises an eyebrow. "They'll know if I told you and think I can't fight my own battles. And they'll never stop. I can handel it." She holds my gaze a little longer than necssary, but drops it. "Ok, second question. What was it like?" "What was what like?" I ask. She makes a kissy face and I laugh. "Fine I guess." "What, no sparks like in the book and movies?" Her eyes sparkle. I bite my lip. "No, nothing like that." I lie. She would ask me if I really did like him and I would have to tell her about the other two. "Hey Amber. Your zoning again." I shake my head. "What?" I ask. She smiles sadly at me. "So it hasn't gotten better? Not even a little?" I sigh. Ever since the big a accident I've had a habit of zoning out. "Not really. But I don't do it all the time like I use to." Which is the truth. Before I use to be out of it for days, just lost in my own thoughts. David had thought it was depression, Grace thought I just wanted to get awat from reality. They were both right in a way. I still do it. And I continue to find reasons to hate Thanatos with all my heart. "Anyway...I wanted to know if I could eat. My stomachs about to collapse from lack of food." I pat my stomach to show her how hungry I really am. She laughs to herself and gets up. "There's the new coffee shop that opened just down the street. We could go there." I open my mouth to ask what's wrong with the cafe here, but she cuts me off. "Trust me, you'll like the coffee shop a lot better." She graps her car keys, the one with the little Whinne-the-Pooh chain on it. I swear Lilly is the kiddest immortal I've ever met. "You ready?" She looks back at me, her eyes sparkling brightly. I get off the bed and walk over to her. "Yeah." I say, then I snatch the keys out of her hand. "But I'm driving." And I race down the hall before Lilly can catch me.
  3. I never really saw myself in this spot when I grew up. Driving in a convertible with a girl that can bend earth and who's thousands of years old. When I was really little I thought I would become a princess and live in a castle way up in the air. Things can sure change. Lilly turns on the raido, finding a station that we both like. The tops down and my hair blows behind me like crazy snakes. The sky is all different colors, red, orange, yellow, blue, and pink. The clouds are multi-colored too, from deep orange to pale yellow. Everything thing is so pretty, and I can almost forget about my problems. Almost. By the time we get to the coffee shop it's a little over seven. And according to Lilly the shop opened almost twenty minutes ago. We park by a little shop with plastic models wearning sundresses and skirts. The coffee place is - interesting. The outside doesn't match the other buildings. It's painted a black color and the windows are huge. It looks new when the other shops show signs that they've been here a while. There's ivy running on the windows, wrapping around the glass like its a frame. It looks cute and out of it's element. I like it. The inside is just as different as the outside. The walls are painted black and an off blue. There's picuters of different places or ramdom things. The tables are stain-less steal and so is the counter top. Behind it is a collage girl, maybe in her mid-twenty's. Her red hair is pulled back in a pontail and her gray eyes look tired. But she puts on a smile when she us and gives us a cheery smile. "Hi! Welcome to Springmaid Coffee Shop! What can I get you?" Lilly goes first, ordering a plain black coffee without anything in it and a muffin. The girl nods and writes it down, then asks what I want. I scan the menu, it having everything from water to browines that as big as my hand. "Um, I'll have the double mint espresso and a maple nut muffin." We give her the money and sit at a table. We aren't the only ones here. There's four other people here, each with a laptop and typing like they've had caffeine enjected into there bloodstream. There's two other workers with the red-headed girl, all talking and making the coffee's we asked for. The place smells pleasantly of coffee beans and strawberry's. The door opens and the little bell goes off. A man dressed in black walks up to the counter, his body built like a gorilla. I eye him, waiting for something bad to happen. But he orders like we did and sits with one of the laptoped guy's. I sigh and sit back in my chair. Maybe today will go without a hitch, and I'll be able to rest. "Here ya' go." A perky blond girl brings us our coffee and muffins. "Enjoy." She says and walks away. My muffin is steaming and smells sweet and looks moist. My espresso is calling my name. "Waiting for the food to walk legs and jump in your mouth? Or are you going to eat?" Lilly's drinking her coffee, her muffin missing a bite out of it. I stick my tongue out at her and bite into my muffin. Flavors dance in my mouth. There's cinnamon and honey. Nutmeg and brown suger. "Wow." I say. "Good huh?" "Better." I answer. My espresso is even sweetier.
  4. When we get back to the school, students are outside, walking around and talking. The grass blows in the breeze, tickling my ankles. It's always green, even in the winter. All thanks to Lilly. Some of the students come up to Lilly, asking questions and talking to her. I slowly walk in the other direction, thinking it's a good time to leave. I turn the corner, and run right into someone. I fumble back, trying to keep my balance and not fall. "Sorry." I say. And see I ran right into Riley. "It's ok." He says, smiling at me. "Where do you go? I woak up and you weren't here." "Sorry," I say, and find that I mean it, "I was out for breakfast with Lilly." He nods, almost in an impatient way. "So, you want ot dp something? I mean, if you don't want to it's ok. I just wanted to know." He blushes a deep red. "Um, sure. That's ok with me. Where do you want to go?" I ask, feeling light headed. I need help badly. "How about the pier?" He asks. "Sure. When?" "You wanna go now?" He asks. I smile and nod. "Ok." I say. He smiles in either happiness or relief. Maybe both. He grabs my hand, squeezing it. "Come on then." And he pulls me toward the parking lot.
  5. *Eric's POV* Whe I wool up Riley was gone. Probably went looking for Amber. I walk around the campus, looking for Amber. What does she see in him? Or Tyler? I mean, what kinda' of guy does she like? I wish she would see me like I see her. I want her. But she likes the two bumpkins. I kick at a rock, making it sail two feet to the right. I thought about just flat out telling her how I feel. That I don't like her - that I love her. But what would she say? Would she say the same thing? That she likes the others? Why is everything complicated? I walk by two students there heads close together, whisperning. I slow my pace. Something tells me that I should listen to them. "Yeah. I heard that Tyler took her up on the roof and they stayed there until like six in the morning." One of the guys said. "Hey I cam believe that." The other guys says. He looks older then the other guy, maybe by a year or two. "He had a thing for her a few years back. She was bad then. I remember that hardly any of the senior year graduated. Only the ones that didn't go lived. She was always in her room, or on the roof." He says it kinda' sad. Anger flows threw my bones. They spent the night up there? She said that she went out! I start walking back to the dorm rooms, wanting to chat with Tyler about what happened last night.
  6. *Amber's POV*  We walk hand in hand on the wooden pier. The sun is high in sky, but the heat isn't hot on my skin. But I'm really hot. Maybe it's from holding Riley's hand. We've been talking the whole time, laughing and watching the surfers epically fail. "You hungery yet?" He asks, flashing me that bright smile. "Sure. How about that vender?" I point to a hot dog stand, the man behind it serving a man and his dog. Riley shruggs. "Sure." So we walk over there.     The man greets us with a smile and a southern accent. "What would y'all like on your hot dog?" Riley gets mustard and I get mine plain. "Nothing? At all?" He asks, biting into the mustard and bun only. "Yeah. I never really liked stuff on them." I nibble at the edge. The grease is overwhelming but good in a weird way. We walk until we find a bench that's empty. "So..." Riley leaves the word hanging. "So what?" I ask. "I don't know. We've ran out of these to talk about." I bite in my hot dog, watching him finish his. "How about swimming?" I ask, wiping my mouth with my napkin. "Swimming?" He raises his eyebrow. "Yeah. It'll be fun." I grab his hand "I don't have a swim suit." He says. "Let's go buy it then." "Not enough money." "I have some." I say. He sighs, but he smiles anyway. "Ok."         I find the cheapest store and send him off to find something. Then I go in girls section and look for something on the clearance rack. I find a bright yellow two piece that I really like. While Riley's looking at he stuff I sneak into the changing room. The suit is really nice. There's no straps, just a snap thing in the back. I turn around like five times in the mirror. I like it. When I come out, in my clothes, Riley's standing with a red suit. I smile of the thought of him without a shirt. "Find something?" I ask. He nods and we pay.    We walk back to the beach and I go in a bathroom to change. I put my hair in a loose ponytail, not wanting my hair to get all tangled up.
  7. *Riley's POV* I wait in the warm sand. Amber's crazy. Has she seen the current? Surfers are falling off left and right because the water's to fast. Maybe she'll change her mind. The bathroom door squeaks and I turn. Maybe she wno't change her mind. Hope she doesn't. She looks, well hot, in her suit. I never really noticed how strong her arms and legs looked. I stared at her, trying not to let my mouth hang open.
  8. *Amber's POV* I need to breathe. Riley looks, hands down, sexy in his red shorts. With them hanging dangerously low and his chest sculpted like he's some greek god, I might pass out before we get in the ocean. I try not to look shy in my two piece, but with him staring at me and other guys doing the same, it's hard not to wish a towel would appear around me. "Ready?" I ask, eager to get in the water. "Um...um yeah." He says, his gaze going from intent to embarrassed. "Let's go then." I grab hold of his hand, noticing other girls eyeing him. We walk on the beach, close to the lapping water. The water seems extra powerful today. I close my eyes, concentrating on the sound of the waves crashing, the smell of sea water. I close my hand in a fist, and power comes rushing through me. And for a moment, I'm not with Riley, but somewhere else. Then I feel the hot sand and the warm air. The water is still raging, but way better than it was. Riley seems to notice. "How the...? Did you-" "Yeah." I say, feeling more awake. We keep walking until the people were less and less. Then, we found a place were there wasn't anybody. I walk closer to the water, it laping at my ankels. "Ready?" "Yep." He answers. we walk in the water together. The water is cool, and calm. Perfect. We go up to our waists before I stop. "What?" Riley asks. "Come here." I say. I let the air around us to come closer and closer together until it's visible. Riley looks amazed, then confused. "What's that for?" He asks. There's an orb of air in front of him, hovering just abouve his head. "I can breathe under water," I say, "you can't." And Iput there air over his head. His eyes widen. "Don't talk." I say. "It'll let the air go." And I dive in the water.
  9. Riley comes under water, breathing in the air. I smile. At least he gets the idea. We smin around, the water clear and bright. Riley catches up to me and grab's my hand, squeezing it. Even under the water I can feel his wamrth. Seaweed dances under the water, flowing with the current. Fish of diffrent shape and color nip at the sand and swim around. It's a diffrent world under here. Carb skuttle on the sandy floor, dolphins play together, and schools of fish dance around. We stay close to the surface, just in case Riley runs out of air. I stay away form the dark pits, knowing what's lerking under the darkness. I love being under the water, love feeling the energy running through it. Riley grabs my arm, turning me to him. I can see the outlinge of his air bubble, there's not much left. I point up, but he shakes his head. He pulls me closer and my heart thumps in my chest. His hand brushes my cheek and he pulls my head closer to his. Our lips brush together and we kiss.
  10. We ride back to school holding hands. I feel somewhat guilty. I do like the others, but I like Riley too. I'm so confused. We pull in the parking lot, Riley smiling, his hair blown dry. It looks cute. My hair started to curl at the ends, for what ever reason I don't know. Me and him walk in the front door, the sun had toasted us to a light red. There's no one around and when we walk up the stairs, there's no one in the hallway's. In class. We walk to my room, unlocking it and nearly fall in. He wraps his arms around me and leans closer, kissing me with a feirce passion. I wrap my arms around his neck, his hand on my back, pulling me closer to him. A little voice in the back of my mind tells me this isn't a good idea, but when we fall on the bed I can't even hear it. He kisses my forehead and leaves a trail of kisses down to my neck. "Oh Amber." He growls deep in his throat. I grab his neck and pull him on top of me, kissing his lips. He presses harder against me, hips grinding into mine. I pull at the edges of his shirt, my hands finding there way up to his chest. He groans and his hand slips under the back of my shirt. 'Miss me?' A voice whispers in my mind. Then my stomach twists violently and my back arches.
  11. *Riley's POV* Amber's back lifts off the bed, her stomach against mine. I don't think anything about it, I just kiss her cheek. Then she screams. She's thrashing, her hands racking down my chest. "Amber? What's wrong?" Her eyes are open, but they aren't focused. She's twisting and grabing her stomach. "Amber? Amber!" I grab her shoulders, and pull away. Her skin is burning hot. What's wrong? I grab her wrist, trying to hold her down. "What's wrong? Amber, look at me." But her eyes roll in the bakc of her head. She's still screaming. "Help! Help me!" Her voice is shrill. Someone knocks on the door, frantic. "Amber! Open up! Amber!" I don't want to leave her, but I run to the door and almost brake it. Outside stands Emily, Tyler and Eric. Amber's sobbing now and Tyler pushes himself into the room. Emily and Eric follow, and I'm to worried to really care that there here. Tyler's by her side, her body still twitching. Emily runs over to her. "OhmyGod Amber are you ok?" She's looking around the room, like something's going to come out of no where. Amber's not anwsering, her body shaking like a leaf in the wind. Eric turns to me. "What the hell did you do to her?" He demands. "Nothing." I say. I want to get to Amber, not talking to Eric. "BS. You were in here with her. What. Happened?" "I said nothing. I did nothing to her." Emily and Tyler are trying to calm Amber down. I push Eric out of the way, wanting to get to Amber.
  12. *Amber's POV* I hear Tyler and Emily by me. I hold my stomach, sobbing. Thanatos. He did it. And it was worse then I thought it would be. "Amber? Look at me." Tyler's hand is on my leg. But I just look at his hand, holding my self. Emily's on the bed with me, her hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me down. 'You would be smart not to anger me girl.' His voice echos in my mind. Panic rises in me, and I pull away from Tyler and Emily. 'That was just a taste of what I can do. It would be better not to make me mad.' And his voice leaves my head. Someone is holding me. "It's ok. Your ok." Eric's voice comes from behind me. His arms are around me, holding me close to him. He's cold and it's heaven against my too hot skin. "What happened Amber?" Tyler's asking. His voice is futher away, anger and worry mingled in with it. I open my mouth, but the words stick in my throat. I can't talk. I close my eyes, everything unraveling inside of me.
