  1. Occurs when the sea level drops.
  2. The rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitional forces exerted by the moon and the sun and the rotation of the earth.
  3. The forward movement of the oceans water due to the drag of wind over the surface.
  4. Occurs when the sea level rises.
  5. The saltiness of a body of water, the level of salt disolved in a body of water.
  6. A continuous and directed movement made by the forces acting on the water flow; i.e. Wind, Waves, Coriolis Effect, Salinity, Sun, Moon, Temperature.
  7. The apparent deflection of objects (such as airplanes, wind missiles, ocean currents) moving in a straight path relative to the earths surface.
  8. The mass per unit volume. Ex: If an object such as a piece of wood floats on water it is less dense than water vs. if a rock sinks, it is more dense than water.
  9. Underwater sound waves that hear and locate submerged objects; or meaure the distance to the floor of a body of water.
