What type of reactionary are you?

A reactionary is plainly put someone who wishes to return to a previous point in time. Usually this means a rejection of the Enlightenment. A common misconception about reactionary ideology it that it is related to fascism, almost every single reactionary theorist was anti-fascist or critical of fascism.

This quiz is not going to list specific ideologies, but instead it will represent several tendencies within a reactionary thought represented by different archetypes. Also of course this quiz is made with the idea that the person taking it has a basic understanding or at least identifies with reactionary thought.

- Most religions lack the martial spirit, they must be thrown away with the rest of modernity
- Religion is good and there may only be one truth, but we should not impose one single faith
- Religion was a useful tool for maintaining control, perhaps technology will offer far better methods
How should power actually be distributed?
- The Feudal system was the perfect blueprint, no need to change what isn't broken.
- Feudalism was good because it was decentralized, power should be divided between the Monarch, the Aristocracy, and the Church
- The people should voluntarily share power with a monarch, whose job it is to preserve the order rather than manage a bureaucracy
- Monarchy isn't realistic, power should reside in a vanguard party or some sort of other group
- Power should simply reside with the strongest, just as nature intended
- The state should be the literal property of a CEO-King
What should a reactionary be focused on in life?
- Hearts and minds, we need to convince people we are the correct way
- You should be getting organized, but don't waste your time trying to convert people
- God, church, and family
- Cultivating aristocratic values
- Making connections, get close to someone who already has power
Who should make up the aristocracy?
- The aristocracy should be benevolent autocrats, focused on caring for the people
- The aristocracy should be hereditary guardians of our traditions
- The aristocracy should be warrior poets who earn their right by might
- The aristocracy should be loyalists to the state
Do you think about Rome often?
- Yes
- Yes, but Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire was also truly Rome
