  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. I woke to a knocking on the door. Bo groaned and I rose from my warm spot. Brushing the hair from my face I opened the door. Before me stood Eloise. She looked at my sleep wear and giggled. "I don't think you are going to want to wear that on the road!" I merely shrugged and gave her a drowsy smile. "Get ready honey girl, we ride out in two hours!" She then turned on her heels and skipped from my view. I closed the door again with a groan. I was slightly reluctant to leave the luxury of the place, but most of me was ready to feel the wind again. I turned to see Bo already had risen from his slumber and was lumbering over for water and to graze. I walked into my closet and chose to wear black pants and a long sleeve black shirt. These were both flexible and easy to move in. They were exactly what I used to travel in so I felt most comfortable leaving in them. I put my hair into a bun and looked at Bo. He was ready to. I grabbed the strap with all my materials and put it on Bo. He stretched with it on, accustoming to the familiar materials. As we walked from our room, Bo nudged me and I looked back to see happiness in his eyes. I put my hand on his nose and I smiled. He was right. We were free, with a home, with a family. We had found ourselves one hell of a life. Walking forward again I felt a new happiness, and I imagined it looked just like Bo's. We entered the throne room and found it empty. I looked at Bo and shrugged. Timmy then came into the room from behind me. "Princess! I've been looking for you! We are supposed to convene in the dungeons!" He told me rather out of breathe. I rose my eyebrows in surprise. "Dungeons?" "Yes, even though they are empty we have them just in case." I nodded my head. "It's the best place for secrecy, and there is a pathway out that leads straight onto the path we need to go on." He finished. I smiled down at him. He was rather adorable. "Alright. We will go there. But I think you need a break!" I told him with a wink. He cocked his head in confusion. I took him from under the armpits and put him on top of Bo. He smiled with a mixture of delight and nerves. Bo reached around and nibbled at his shoe affectionately. He liked the boy too. I watched as he gripped onto Bo's mane and I walked forward, heading to the dungeons.
  2. (JAMES POV) We were all here, just waiting for Timmy to come back with the girl. We all sat on our horses. Me on my chestnut quarter horse mare, Vincent on his palomino peruvian paso gelding, Anton on his dapple grey andalusion stallion, Eloise on her white arabian mare, and Ava on her black shire gelding. Timmy's bay welsh pony mare was sitting with her little cart waiting for her little child. The King and Queen sat patiently. It was slightly awkward for no one was talking, just fiddling with this or that. Finally we heard the familiar sound of hooves on stones. Ashlyn appeared first, following her was Bo with Timmy on his back. Ashlyn sure seems to like the little boy. Timmy jumped off and ran to his pony who seemed rather excited to see him. Ashlyn hugged her mother and said hello to her father. Then I watched as she swung those perfect legs of hers over Bo's back. She was wearing something identical to what she wore when I first saw her. She was surely intoxicating, but I wasn't about to let that get in the way of the fact that I now need to get myself back in the position of best hunter out there. I turned my gaze to my queen. She was certainly something else, and I respected her completely. "James has directions on where to take you. Other than that, you are all prepared for this. I can say nothing more to you all but goodbye and good luck." She said, her voice held a tint of worry. I didn't blame her either, she was sending out her daughter after all. I turned and started down the hallway.
  3. (MY POV) I watched as James turned his horse down the hallway opposite from where I came in. His mare's hoofs clattered on the stone. We each followed him, the only person behind me was Timmy. He was now on his cute little pony and she seemed to pull the cart of materials with ease. Bo seemed to despise the feeling of the stones, he even tripped once. He must have no grip on the flooring. As for me... I hated the echoing sounds that confused my senses. If I closed my eyes, I would be completely disoriented, which isn't good. The hallway grew into a large stone room with large archways, and at the very end was an iron gate chained shut. I suddenly found myself besides Eloise, her big black eyes looking at me curiously. "Most don't know of this place but the very firsts of the kingdom. This is where they first started, and they grew out from here. It is now there only weak point and guard it with fierce secrecy and all the magic they can find." She told me. "I cast it all of course." Ava said ahead of me. I smiled slightly, amused by her ego, even though she seemed to have earned it all. James then placed a fancy looking key into the old lock, it didn't seem to fit... but then I remembered that magic was involved and it all made perfect sense to me. The gates creaked open, as if they were complaining about rising from a long slumber. We each passed through one by one. Then James locked it behind us and loped to the front of our procession. We followed a well concealed pathway up to the forest. Even I would have troubles finding it. From there we all spread slightly from our single file line. Now in a spread out clump. We each walked in awkward silence for a while. I was bored, we were traveling at a much slower pace than me and Bo were used to, even he was antsy. I asked him to trot to the front of the procession, to James. Everyone watched us with wary curiosity. "Yes?" He asked. "I'm going to hunt. If Bo and I maintain the lumbering pace much longer we will be put to sleep. I will do something productive!! And before you argue, don't even think I'll get lost, get hurt, get caught, or any of like thoughts." I replied. His eyes narrowed. Finally he let out a sigh, "It's not like I have the instruments to stop you anyways. Go ahead." I smiled and turned quickly, Bo bursting into a well deserved gallop.
  4. His muscles pulsed beneath me. Raw power with every breathe. Our body and minds moved and acted as one. He dodged in and out of trees, some random pieces of hair fell from my bun and whipped across my face. But I didn't notice. The adrenaline coursed through my veins and I felt nothing more than the animal I am. We finally slowed, both of us refreshed from the athletic excursion. I took in the new trees around me, and slowed my heartbeat. Immersing into the environment around me I relaxed. I slipped from Bo's back and he vanished somewhere else. My bow now in my hands, I was now in predator mode. My eyes now saw the forest with an intense clarity that allowed me to take everything in. I smelled all within the breeze, and I heard even the lizard above me in the tree to my left. I crept from my spot searching the area for any signs of valuable prey. It took me some time, but I had finally found the tracks of a wild boar. These guys were challenging, but well worth it. Plus, I always welcomed the challenge. These guys were smart, so I veered from it's path, now traveling at a parallel one, just out of detection. Slowly I began to detect the fresher scents and eventually heard it's scuffling. Peering from the brush, I saw a juvenile male. Not quite what I had hoped for, but good enough. I took aim and watched it's head shoot up from the subtle sound I inevitably created. It squealed and ran from it's spot. I snarled and took off after it. The creature was much more agile than I, and faster too. If I didn't take it down now, it will be lost. While in full sprint, I took a shot. Bullseye! I reached it and found it already lifeless. My shot was straight through the ear to the brain. It had no idea that it happened. I took the arrow from it and thanked the animal's spirit for it's sacrifice. I whistled my bird song and soon found Bo peering down at me and my kill. "You get to carry it." I said teasingly. He knocked me over in response. "Hey!" I said laughing. I hauled the beast up and strapped it to his back. I took my place behind it and told Bo it was time to return. We had no problem finding our way back to the original spot and followed the clear tracks back to the group. I found them with ease. They all looked at my kill, seemingly happy that they each would be rewarded with meat for dinner too. Ava took one look at my bow and I could see the interest spike in her eyes. She then knew it was magic. I winked but continued on without a second look.
  5. Soon enough the sun was nearly set. James had found a good spot to camp. This was now Eloise's area of expertise. She moved around quickly, making it so we are well hidden. Ava murmured a few words, I assumed it helped Eloise. I took my kill and began to prepare it, and I watched as Anton created a fire. Timmy was unpacking everything and Vincent watched as we all did our things, he was pretty out of his comfort zone. I smiled to myself kind of amused. When everything was prepared, Ava and I prepared the dinner. I worked with the meats, and Ava with everything else. Soon enough we had portions of food for everyone. It was pleasing to see that everyone seemed to like it. I sat back and watched as everyone gradually fell asleep. Not me however. I couldn't. Bo slept at my side, and I just watch the stars above me. The forest sang it's nighttime song, and I watch a dragonfly flit above me. At one point I heard rustling, rising silently, I saw Vincent walk to the fire pit. He was trying to be quiet, but didn't do so well. He stood staring into the flames for some good time. I stood and came to his side. After a moment he finally noticed my presence, when he did he started. I giggled and smiled at him. He stared a minute, then finally smiled back. "Hey." He whispered. "You all good?" I asked, whispering still. "Eh, can't sleep." "Neither can I." We then stood a while, watching as the flames danced and played, eating at all the fuel we gave it.
  6. (VINCENT'S POV) I couldn't sleep. It was frustrating. I felt so out of place. Each of these people, even Timmy, had their job out here. I was just along for the ride at this point. I've never been and felt so useless. I rose and tried to quietly go to the fire. I snapped a couple twigs, but otherwise I felt pretty successful. Once at the edge of the flames, I was entranced. Fire has always piqued my interest, and it calmed me. I felt it calm my mind until there was nothing but my heartbeat and breathe in my thoughts. Suddenly, a shadow in the corner of my eye caught my attention. I turned to see Ashlyn. I was shocked and to my embarrassment I jumped a bit. The fire's light danced in her green eyes, giving her a wild quality that was absolutely spectacular. She let out a small giggle that made my insides flip. To make her beauty complete... she smiled. After a minute I realized I was staring and smiled back. Her eyes turned back to the fire, then at me again. "Hey." I whispered. "You all good?" She asked, whispering still. "Eh, can't sleep." "Neither can I." We then stood a while, watching as the flames danced and played, eating at all the fuel we gave it. I kneeled, and I flickered my fingers in and out of the edges of the tongues of flame. The warmth was calming, and I was fascinated by the black marks it left. Standing, I noticed that Ashlyn had her eyes on my curiously. I gave her a nervous smile and she giggled again. She then handed me a small blueish leaf. "Eat it. It'll help you sleep." She said. I took it and scrutinized it suspiciously. Who knows what it was... and more importantly... what it tasted like. As if she read my mind, she whispered, "It's really sweet." She then took one out of her own and ate it as she silently returned to her place next to her stallion. I looked down at it and sighed. 'Bottoms up.' I ate it. Flavor burst into my mouth. It tasted like caramel, apples, and chocolate. I smiled and ate the rest of it. It was delicious! Lying in my sleeping bag, I drifted into a dreamless sleep.
  7. (MY POV) My eyes opened to see that the sun had barely risen. Around me were people quietly scuffling about, pulling up camp. Besides my head was a spectacular flower. It was like a sunflower, only a bright orange in the center, then it grew to a bright yellow on the tips of the petals. I picked up the flower and smelled it's sweat scent. I couple drops of dew fell from it's bright petals. I smiled and looked around, but nobody stood watching. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked back down at the flower. I put it to one side, and packed everything up within seconds. Everybody looked at me in surprise. "Comes with the life." I murmured half to myself. It seemed to make sense to some, but others took a moment to figure it out. I turned to pick up the flower again but found it gone. I looked around confused and found Timmy looking at me with a huge smile. "Now what put that there?" I said poking his nose. He giggled and pulled out the flower from behind his back. He gave it to me and said, "I found that in the forest nearby. I thought it was pretty... so I thought it would be the best thing to wake up to!" I smiled and gave him a hug. "Well it was wonderful Timmy, thank you!" He smiled again, and ran back to his pony. I now noticed that he had braided white flowers into her mane and tail. I smiled when the pony nuzzled him and checked him over for injuries. She must think of him like a foal, she was acting like his mother. It made me laugh. I braided my hair to my side and entwined in the flower as well. Once satisfied, I hopped onto Bo and waited for the rest to get on too.
  8. We rode for hours until we finally saw the edge of the forest. It grew into golden fields of grass and flowers. The sky was blue and without a cloud, the sun came down with a comforting warmth. There was a slight breeze, and life teemed all around us. Seemingly not caring about our presence. I was riding besides Eloise, and Eloise's mare stomped her foot with excitement and whinnied into the air. Eloise gasped and clenched onto her saddle. She then glanced at me with an embarrassed smile. "Are you scared?" I asked. "Kind of... I've never ridden before this. I was given Snow for this mission. She's a good mare that takes care of me... but it still makes me nervous when she does something unexpected." "Damn, I never would've known that if it wasn't for that!" We both chuckled a bit. After that we rode in silence for a while longer. We stopped when the sun reached its highest point to rest. I took off Bo's strap and let him go find his own food and water. He'd be back once he had. "You just let him go?" Eloise asked. "He's my partner. Not my pet." I responded. "Oh...." I saw Anton go off on his own, leaving a distinct trail in the long grass. I chewed on some herbs and ate some of the left over meat from the previous night. When he didn't return after a couple minutes, I followed the trail. I found him in a spot he cleared, practicing with his sword. His head turned on his eyes met mine. Now I'm in for it.
  9. (ANTON'S POV) I was practicing control over my sword movements... and a presence besides me brought my attention. I turned my gaze to see her. Of course it was her. No one else could make my heart flutter like this. As frustrating as it is. I lowered my sword and leaned on it. "So I have a stalker?" I asked. She rolled her eyes. "Your mother asked me to teach you some things. Why not start now?" "I don't need help. I do fine without training." "So far yes. But in some places, you might find yourself without those claws of yours, or your arrows, and even your bow." "I'm listening." "When you are in these such situations, you want to be able to use whatever weapon is at your disposal. Therefore, all the training you can get in other weapons is beneficial to anyone." She had let her eyes stray elsewhere while I spoke, she was deep in thought. Suddenly, her eyes snapped to me. "OK. I'll do it." I smiled. "Take off your weapons and put them down, I don't want any temptation to mess up my baby!" I said this while motioning to my sword. She laughed and went to do as I said. I looked down at my sword, it probably looked just like one you'd see in ancient pictures of the medieval knights. However, it was far sharper and more resistant. I loved it. It was an extension of my arm, part of my body. On my back sat two samurai swords, if I ever had a time I needed them. Which, now would be one of those times. I sheathed my sword as Ashlyn came back. I took both of my samurai swords and gave one to Ashlyn. She looked down at it curiously then back up at me. "I will not hurt you, just, teach you." I told her, meaning every word. I watched as she waved around the sword, tossing it from hand to hand. Even though it looked funny to me, I knew she was only getting a feel of it. I'm sure she's never held one. I took up a stance, one foot behind the other, my sword held out, and my hand on my hip. She looked me up and down, and imitated my stance, very accurately. I was impressed, even with my best students I generally had to tweak there body placement at least a little bit. I tapped the side of her sword. She lunged, and I dodged to the side. I tapped her exposed back. "Dead." She turned angry, but approached more cautiously this time. She swung and I blocked, and we did this a couple more times until it was time for another lesson. When I blocked this time I knocked her sword aside and tapped her chest. "Dead." We continued like this for a good ten minutes. And when I felt like I at least showed her some bad habits and to avoid them, I lowered my sword and took a deep bow. My eyes never left hers, and she imitated me perfectly yet again.
  10. (MY POV) I rose from my bow and handed him back his sword. My arm was exhausted, but I wasn't about to let that show. He seemed satisfied with the work we did today, so I asked nothing. We walked back to see everyone packing up, and Bo had returned. I whispered in his ear what just happened so he felt included. When I had finished he seemed amused. "What?" I whined. He just nickered and gently pushed into my shoulder. I patted his shoulder and strapped everything back onto him. It took only a second. "Ash!" I looked behind me, no one called me that in a loong time. Not since a couple days before my mother was taken. And only by her. It was Timmy. "Yes?" I asked him, kneeling to his height. He put something into my hands. I looked at it and saw it was a piece of brown food. "What's this?" He looked at me horrified. "It's a brownie!" I laughed at his expression. "Eat it! My mom made me some for the trip and I saved some for you." His eyes gleamed with the thought. I ruffled his hair and put the 'brownie' into my mouth. It was delicious! It was chocolate... and kind of cake like. I savored the flavor as it melted into my mouth. "Thanks Timmy, that was soo good!" He smiled and went back to his pony. I shook my head with amusement. I then mounted Bo and continued on with the rest of the crew. I found myself besides Eloise again. She soon began to hum. I could see everyone tilt their heads slightly to listen, as if expecting something. I looked at Eloise with amazement as a song burst from her lips. She was falsetto, her voice like a bell. Her voice went forth in mesmerizing waves, my heartbeat pulsed with it's unspoken beat. I recognized that she sang in french, I only knew this from the french poems my mother used to recite. The whole area seemed to stop and listen to her, and only her. When her song drifted to an end, time seemed to pause. When she didn't continue to sing, life seemed to resume. I looked at her with amazed curiosity. She whispered to me, "I'm known to be The Voice of Paris in our kingdom. That's how I make a living." I nodded, understanding instantly her name.
  11. We finally stopped when the sun was nearing sunset. We took up camp in a small dip we had found. In the distance stood only tree in sight. It was tall, dead, and gnarled. Poetic in a way. I walked up to James. "Why are we stopping so soon?" I asked him. "Ava needs to send a message to the king in the kingdom nearby. It's a days travel away, and we'd travel through more forests. We just want to make our welcome apparent. He will meet us here if he consents to the peace talks." I nodded in thought. "If he doesn't?" "Then we take it from there." I didn't like the answer to that. You should always have a plan for everything. I turned and walked to Ava. She was sitting under the watch of her gelding. Of which didn't seem to like how close I was to his rider, so I approached him first. I gave him a proper greeting and pet him a bit. When the tension in his muscles relaxed, I sat besides Ava. She was writing on a piece of parchment. I could not see the words however. "I see you have a great knowledge of horses." She said not looking up or stopping what she was doing. "I don't think I would have such a tremendous bond with one without it." Besides her I noticed a vial of red liquid. The vial was shaped like a dagger, the cap held intricate detailing. It sat on a white silk clothe. "It's blood." She said, still not looking at me. "Blood from what?" I asked. Her lips parted into an amused grin. "Now that's my secret now isn't it?" Finally looking at me she winked. The parchment in her hands seemed to collapse in her hands. I gasped. "No worries, that was it sending." She then took the vial and wrapped it in the silk, and then she rose and strode off. Her gelding at her heels.
  12. I set up my small little nest and watched as Bo disappeared in the grass. I looked around, and realized, with some anxiety, that the whole area seemed eerily familiar. But I dismissed the thought instantly. I lied down and ate some food, finishing the last of the meat. With a full stomach and a great feeling of security, I drifted into sleep.
  13. My eyes opened to see that it was that dark, peaceful moment before the sun rose. I stood and saw that everyone was asleep, everyone but James. "You want to hunt?" I knew it was James, but he was hidden in the grasses around me. I took up my bow and arrow. "Sure." He stepped out to my right. He seemed to be full of energy. I smiled and sprinted out silently, him following. me. I slowed and surveyed everything around me. Nothing was new so I crouched. James was behind me, obviously curious about my hunting tactics. I took in my surrounding environment. Finding that perfect peace that made me one with nature. My eyes saw everything again. I could hear all again, even the steady heartbeat of my partner. I crept through the grass without a sound, James was behind me. I knew this only because of my heightened senses, for he made no sound like me. Soon enough I froze. I could hear the scurrying of an animal nearby. I could not tell what it was, but it sounded large enough to be worth it. I aimed my arrow, relying on only my ears I closed my eyes. When the arrow left my hand my eyes shot opened and I darted after it. I reached my target and instantly knew it was dead. Killed by a shot to the eye. "Nice. Screecher. Impressive shot by the way." James said. "Thanks." I replied. I kneeled and thanked the creature. "You thank the spirits?" "Yes, it's a life, I wouldn't kill without good reason. And since I am killing this creature for my own survival, I respect it and am thankful for it." He nodded his head and leaned over to take it. I shot him a look that could kill. His hands flew up and he backed away. He was amused though. I took the animal and swung it over my shoulder. We walked back to camp in silence. Though, I enjoyed his company. I put the screecher besides my things and walked back to James. "I kinda want to look at that tree over there." I said. "Sounds good to me." We walked there and I examined the bark. It was old and dead, but strong. I scaled it's length and sat to watch the sunrise. James came up after me. We sat there together as we watched the world wake up. We were out of ear shot of the camp, and our back was to them as well. But I didn't care, the sun was spectacular. It came up with rays of orange and pink, bathing us with it's warmth.
  14. After the sun had completely risen. I heard the approach of hoof steps behind me. The voice who spoke next I recognized to be Vincent's. "Our message was received well. The king is currently here to escort us back." I turned to see. It was King Donovan. I felt my face drain of all color. "Well, funny seeing you here." He said with an evil grin.
