  1. You are in the theater at BYU, doing a report on Shakespeare for school. As you walk past the "The Taming of the Shrew" exhibit, you are sucked into the manuscript!!!
  2. Suddenly, you find yourself wearing Elizabethan time period clothes, and standing in an old timey living room. An old man has just left the room, and you watch as a man and a woman argue.
  3. "You are a joint stool." says the woman. "Thou hast hit, come sit on me." says the man. You, utterly confused, go over and inspect the conversation. They do not seem to notice you. In fact, even though you poke the man, he looks around as if confused! You are invisible to them!
  4. "Donkeys are made to bear." says the woman. "Woman are made to bear, and so are you!" says the man. The woman scowls. "No such jade as you, if me you mean." You remember which manuscript you were sucked into. The woman must be Kate, and the man Petruchio!! The old man that left must have been Baptista. You continue to listen to their conversation. "Alas, good Kate, I will not burden thee, knowing thee to be but young and light-" he is cut off by Kate. "To light for such a swain as you to catch, and yet as heavy as my weight should be."
  5. Knowing what happens next, you become bored and decide to seek out something more interesting. You wander out the door, and feel a lurch. Wind seems to move past you immensely, and the ground moves beneath you. Soon you find yourself at the church. You walk in. Baptista and Kate are standing at the front of the church, looking distressed. A servant, probably Biondello, bursts in after you. "Is he come?" says Baptista. "Why no sir." says Biondello. "What then?" "He is coming." "When will he be here?" asks Baptista. You realize they are talking about Petruchio, and you giggle with anticipation about what's to come. They have finished talking now, and Petruchio bursts in. He is wearing a tatty jacket, patched trousers, odd socks , a rusty sword, and a hat with a hole in it. You can see that he hasn't washed his hair. You burst with laughter at the sight of him, and the entire assembly looks around to see who made the noise.
  6. After the wedding ceremony, Petruchio calls for a drink of water. Deciding to cause some trouble, after he takes the first sip you knock the rest into the priests face. Petruchio looks bewildered, and Kate scolds him, thinking he'd done it. You suspend a giggle.
  7. Petruchio drags Kate away, and you decide to take a look at Luciento and Bianca, Kate's younger sister. As soon as you think it, the strange wind comes, and you find yourself watching a young couple listening at a door. Knowing the story, you know that Luciento pretended to be a latin teacher so that he could get close to Bianca. Then, he hired an old man to pretend to be his father to get Baptista to agree to let Bianca marry him. The two are in love.
  8. You here consent from Baptista on the other side of the door, and the two run off to the church, to be married then and there. You head back to Petruchio in Verona, and decide to cause more mischief for the two lovers. A tailor stands next to them, reading something. A servant stands by, wringing his hands. "A loose bodied gown." says the tailor. "Master," says the servant, "If I ever said a loose bodied gown, sew me in the skirts of it and beat me to death with a bottom of brown thread. I said a gown."
  9. Petruchio frowns. "Proceed." he says to the tailor. "With a small compassed cape." The servant cuts in again. "I confess the cape." "With a trunk sleeve." "I confess two sleeves." "The sleeves curiously cut." Petruchio frowns. "Aye, there's the villainy." The servant shrinks back, then confesses he told the tailor to do it. You smile and knock the dress to the ground. The tailor looks confused, but picks it up. Then he leaves.
  10. You wait and watch, knowing the story is not over yet, and wondering how you will ever get home.
  11. Cliffhanger!! So, what do you think?
