READ: Okay, first off, the only reason why it says (Remake) in the title is because I messed up on the other part 8 I was working on, so yeah.. Anyways, I have made a story for this series, but all I've got is the first two chapters(parts) of the first series "Magic and Boys" and it is up on another website named Quotev. com.

It has been renamed "Little Secrets" but in the description it states that it is originally called "Magic and Boys," If any of you readers wanna go check that out. If you can't find it, just put a comment down and I'll copy and paste the link for you. Thanks so much guys!

  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. A week has passed since that weird dream you had, and you, Renee and Maeve are talking again. You can't just ignore your sister forever. Nakia is making an effort to be nice whenever she goes around Maeve, but other than that they're always down each others throats. Everything has been pretty much normal lately. You haven't been out to kill anyone yet, and you haven't been hauled off to the woods by a Nyxus or getting drunk at the Unseelie court. As much as you enjoy the week off, you know it isn't going to last. You and {_______} have been spending more time and everyone seems to be getting along and in a better mood. In fact, you all were going out to see a movie tonight. (Short boring chapter, but it's just sort of like an intro thing. ._.)
  2. "Hey, babe." Nakia says, digging through her closet. "Try this on." She says, throwing you a pink shirt that hangs off of your right shoulder, exposing the now white scar. In the back, it has little ringlets(Whatever they're called) that slightly show off your white tanktop. She than throws you a pair of dark blue jeggings. "Uh, Nakia?" You say and she looks back at you, throwing a black shirt similar to yours over her head. "Yeah?" She asks, in confusion. "Are you sure these are going to fit me?" You ask. Nakia was skinnier than a stick. Well, not literally but she was thin, even with the baby weight. She gives you a look, and raises her eyebrows. "Babe," she says, pulling her hair up in a pony tail. "You're not that much bigger than me." You nod, telling her that she was right. You slip on the pants easily, and examine yourself in the mirror. A little too dressed up for just the movies, but you don't expect anything less from Nakia. She had style. "How do you want your hair?" She asks and you give her a weird look. "It's just the movie's Jae." You tell her and she nods. "Well, I'd hope so." she says, than adds. "But, we gotta do something about your hair. Oh, I know!" She says and immediately begins to work on you. You sit on her bed impatiently. "This better not take a million years," You tell her and you can practically see her roll her eyes, even though your back is to her. "You're so impatient," she tells you and you laugh. "It's only one of my best specialties," You joke and she tugs at your hair a bit. "Okay, done," She tells you and you stand up to look into the bathroom mirror. "Ooh," You say, examining yourself. She threw your hair up, leaving your bangs and a loose strand on the side out. "Cute," You compliment. "Leggo! We're gonna be late!" She says and begins pulling you out of the room quickly. You let her pull you down the hall, staggering here and there. "What's the big rush?!" You ask, laughing a bit. She gives you a wink. You give her a 'That's-not-what-I-meant' look and she ignores it. "So, as far as I know, it's me, you, Fang, Alex, Max, Sam, Phoenix, Renee, Zaine, and Maeve are going." She says Maeve's name with distaste and you pretend you don't hear it. "This is going to cost a fortune," You say and she gives you a sly smile. "No, it's not. Your little friend has mind tricking power's 'member?" She says and you nod. "Guess that's a plus side to being friends with a Nyxus," You say quietly and you hear her mutter a, "Guess so." You both walk the rest of the way to the cafeteria, where you find everybody waiting for you. Phoenix is wearing black on black, as usual. Her clothes are skin tight, but they still look comfortable. Her light brown hair is pulled up into a pony tail, and you notice a couple of hunting knives tucked into her boots and on the inside of her tigh. It was always okay to be cautious, but sometimes Phoenix takes it too far. Than again, being the hunter she is, it probably is a habit for her. Lilah is wearing a pink Minnie Mouse sweater and regular blue skinny jeans and her hair is just the same as always. Syllabell is wearing a plain white shirt with yoga pants and her hair is left down, though it is straightened to almost perfection as usual. Sam has her dark red curled and it falls almost down to her ribs. She's wearing a blue and red Superman shirt and matching red skinny jeans. Alex is wearing a Lost Boy's shirt, no surprise there, and regular Levi pants and his blonde hair is almost past his ears. Max is wearing a black Fall Out Boy t-shirt and basketball shorts. His brown hair is falling in his face and he impatiently swipes it away. Fang is wearing a red button up shirt and dark skinny jeans. Which, is unusual for Fang, it almost looks formal for him. Atreyu is wearing a black beater tanktop showing off some of his tattoos, and dark pants. Zaine is wearing a plaid button down shirt and regular jeans, and Renee is wearing a green Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt and black shorts. You and Nakia match the most, which you are pretty sure she planned. Something feels out of place, and you do a headcount. "Where's Maeve?" You ask.
  3. Renee is the one to speak up. "She's still upstairs getting ready, she has been for the past ten minutes." You chew on the inside of your cheek, as you think of what to do. "Okay," You say, deciding. "I'll go see what's taking so long." You teleport up to your room, but you end up outside of the door. 'Funny,' you think to yourself, frowning. 'That's never happened before.' You begin to put your hand on the doorknob when you hear voices coming from inside of your room. You can definitely identify Maeve but you have no idea who the other person is, they are speaking too low. You press your ear to the door and listen, hearing little snips of what the other person is saying. "... Not right. She should know." There's a couple of seconds of silence before you hear Maeve reply, "I very well have acknowledged that it isn't right. If it were up to me, she would know by now. It is not my confession to tell. Let alone your own." You wonder what they are talking about, and you strain to hear the other person. "And when she does find out, she will point her fingers at us. It is in our orders that she trusts us, Maeve. Not feel betrayed. You are already failing at that." You can definitely identify the voice as being a male, and you know you have heard it before. "Shall I remind you, once she finds out, we will have a greater chance of winning her over?" Maeve is talking differently, so you know whoever she is speaking to belongs to the other side. Suspicion and curiosity take over your mind at once, and you press harder to hear. "Needn't surmise such things, Maeve. It's still a fair chance of who will win." With that, you can't take it anymore. You burst into the room, pretending like you weren't eavesdropping. "Maeve, are you ready to-," You glance at her, dressed in a white, strapless dress that hugs her stomach and flows out around her waist and she is wearing white stiletto heels. They only make her skin paler. Two strands of her hair is pinned back, leaving the rest curled. You glance to your left and see Ameer leaning against the wall. "Go." You end, suddenly growing quiet. Ameer has most of his hair pinned back as well, and it seems like a dark blonde in the dim lighting that Maeve has left your room on. You notice he has a bow with about five arrows beside it, strapped onto his side. Was all he came here for to talk? Why was he here? Why couldn't he come the other day? "Ameer," You finally say. "What are you doing here?" He is studying you, and it makes you anxious. His gold eyes take in your outfit and if you had known any better, you'd say he was checking you out. It's so hard to tell these days with faeries. "It's late, I'm keeping you both from enjoying yourselves. Much apologies." You frown, taking note to how he ignores your question, knowing he would have to tell you the full truth. He turns to Maeve and says, "I assume we will talk more later, yes?" She nods, and begins to pull you out of the door and he follows, though he walks in the opposite direction, headed for the doors. "________, wait." You hear him call and you turn around, expecting him to tell you. Maeve stops walking, giving him a cautious look. "I forgot to tell you how lovely you look," he says and you let out a breath, disappointment flowing through you. Nevertheless, your cheeks turn pink and you nod. "Thanks," You say, and Maeve pulls on your arm. "Let's go, we shouldn't keep them waiting any longer. Things will be suspicious." You almost laugh at this, but you follow her. "Like they aren't already?" You say and she gives you a sharp look. "I don't know what you think you heard, but whatever it is, I can't give you the answer to what you want to know." You give her an annoyed look. "And how would you know what it is that I want to ask?" You say, realizing that you were probably obvious at trying to hide that you were eavesdropping. Maeve doesn't reply, and it makes you even more annoyed. Can't anyone just give you the straight answers anymore? "I sense your annoyance, and I am sorry. There are things that you want to know, but it is best you do not take notice to them." You wonder what she means by this. "I just want to know what it is that you're so desperately trying to keep from me. In the end, I will find out. So, why don't you just tell me?" She ponders upon this question, taking it into deep thought. By now, you are almost to the Cafeteria doors. "It is not in my duty to tell you that." "Than who's is it?" You walk through the cafeteria doors, and you realize that that was probably the wrong thing to ask, and now she won't answer it. 'Oh well,' you think to yourself. 'Whatever it is, I'll take care of it later. Right now, I just need to forget about all this bad stuff, and just have fun for a night.' "Hey, look who decided to show up! What took you so long?" Phoenix says and everyone else takes notice. "I couldn't get my shoes on, ________ had a hell of a time helping me." You take notice to how this is the first time hearing Maeve curse, and how fluent she is becoming.
  4. "So," Renee says, catching everyone's attention. "What movie are we going to see?" You all think about her question. "Well," You say awkwardly. "Guess we should have thought about that." "I could call a theater, see what's playing. Give me a name?" Phoenix says and you just awkwardly stand as everyone throws out random theatre names. You don't know any around here, only in your hometown. Phoenix chooses one out of the many answers she got, and she frowns up at Fang. "How do you know any theatres in Nevada?" You frown at Fang too, wondering what was going on. He shrugs, not answering. "What's the name of the theatre called?" You ask, curiosity getting the best of you. "AMC theatres." She says, and scrolls through something on her phone. "Well, where's it at?" Alex asks, leaning over her shoulder and she swats him away. "It's in Las Vegas you snoop." This caught your attention. "Woah, woah, woah. Hold up. You mean we're going to Las Vegas? Right now? Like, right now, tonight?" Nakia says, her face lit up. Phoenix shrugs, and gestures to you. "Up to her," She says, not looking up from her phone. She practically lives on it. Everyone stares at you with pleading eyes. "Boo Butt, this will be awesome!" Syl says and you make a face at her, about to question her nickname for you when Max says, "I agree. Come on, ________. When are we ever going to be able to go to Sin City again?" "Any day of the week, Max. Use your head, bro," Alex says and makes a face at him and Max makes one right back. "Fine, we can go!" You say, shaking your head at the two. You earn a lot of grins and cheers and highfives. "But, on one condition," You add. Everyone's face's dropped. "Don't look so glum." You say frowning. "I was just going to say that Renee doesn't gamble," You joke and everyone breaths a sigh of relief. Your stomach did a flip flop. You guys were going to Las Vegas, and it would only take you moments. That's the perk of having teleportation powers. Lilah, Syllabell, Nakia and {_______} grab ahold of you while everyone else goes with Sam and you both teleport out of there. When you open your eyes your standing in the middle of a road, lights flashing all around you. Casino's, bars, street lights. Everything is lit up. You are all so lost in admiration. That is, until various honks are sounded and someone yells, "Get out of the road!" You are pulled back into reality, as well as everyone else and you hurry over to the sidewalk. Thousands of people scatter the street, showing off as much skin as they can. You look down at your outfit, and to everyone elses, noticing how you all stick out so much. "You know Phoenix," Alex speaks up. "This would have been a whole lot easier if you could have just gave us the directions." She gives him a sly smile and shakes her head. "A little exercise never hurt anyone, has it?" She says and he gives her a sarcastic look. The heat was starting to get to you, though it was almost past dusk. "Okay," Phoenix says, doing a quick turn, figuring out where her phone was saying to go. "That way," she says, pointing left and you all cross the street. As you walk, you can see people drinking, exchanging bags, and entering and existing Casinos. Nakia grabs your hand and begins to skip forward. "Isn't Vegas beautiful?" She asks, a grin on her face. Her bangs are flowing in front of her face, and she winks at you. Nakia only winks at you when she's up to something. "Jae, what are you planning?" You ask her softly. She puts a hand over her heart, and gives you a mock look of shock. "Me? Why, I'm not planning anything." She says and winks at you again. You snicker, and shake your head. After a while of walking, you were beginning to worry that you were all lost. Which, wasn't a big deal, but anything could happen in Vegas. Couldn't it? "Phoenix," You whine her name, tired of all of the walking you were doing lately. "Whaaat?" She whines right back, and your shoulders slump. "How much farther?" She huffs out a breath and shrugs. "You guys all act as if I'm a human compass," she says and you smile. "But, you are," You tease and she shoots you a look, though she doesn't say anything. Maeve appears by your side, and takes your hand. "Dance with me," she says. You frown at her, and shake your head. "There's no music, how are we supposed to dance?" She gives you cunning look and she shakes your head. "Silly girl," She tells you, taking your other hand in hers. "You're supposed to use your imagination." "Sorry, to break your imagination," Nakia butts in, as you know she might. "But, we're here already." With that, she takes your arm and marches you inside. You feel a bit bad for Maeve, but once you're all inside that guilt turns into embarrassment. All the workers stare at your big group, and a couple of people getting popcorn, hurrying for the show. "Well?" Alex asks, loudly, making you all shut up. "What are we going to watch?" You all shout out different answers and he gives you all a "Come-on" look. "So, we all want to see something different?" He asks and a lot of you nod and shake your head. He turns to the worker who is taking your guys money and handing off tickets. "I'm sorry to make this difficult for you, but-," Maeve tugs on your arm, making you lose your focus on Alex as he lists off the names of movies. "What movie are you watching?" She asks and you shrug. "I could ask you the same." You tell her. She gives you a "really?" look and you give her a sheepish smile. "I just go wherever my best friend goes," You tell her and Nakia sneers. You nudge Nakia, and give her a look. You hadn't mean't for it to sound so mean.
  5. You all go to separate rooms, yours being the farthest away. The flashing lights above read: "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones." You, Nakia, Atreyu, {_______} and Maeve go into that one, while Phoenix, Sam and Renee go into another. As you all walk in, and try to find seats, you notice that the commercials has just gotten through, and barely anyone was paying attention to any of you. It was pretty packed, but you find a seat eventually. You sit in between Nakia and {_______}, and Maeve sits by {_______} while Atreyu sits by Nakia Jae. As the movie starts, you lean towards {_______}. "What's this movie even about?" You ask, frowning. He shrugs, giving you a look. "I honestly have no clue." he whispers a reply. You turn your attention towards the beginning, trying to make sense of what the screen was showing. Minutes later, Nakia was flicking your arm. "Hey, stop," You say, shifting, looking at her. She puts her finger up to her lip, motioning you to be quiet. "What?" You whisper, softer. "I have to go to the bathroom, will you come with?" You look back at Maeve and {_______}, not paying attention to you at all. You lean towards {_______} and whisper in his ear. "I have to go with Nakia real quick. I'll be back soon." and you kiss his cheek. He whispers an "okay" to you and you both stand up and walk through the isles until you get out the door. As you two walk, a couple of workers glance at you, and you begin to turn towards the bathrooms when you notice Nakia isn't going with you. "Jae," You say, frowning. "Where are you going? The bathroom's are this way." She gives you a smirk, and nods. "Oh, I know." She says and your mouth drops. "You sneaky little wolf!" You nearly yell and she laughs, shushing you. "Come on, I want to show something." You raise your eyebrows. "I don't know, Jae. Shouldn't we wait until after the movies? I mean-," she gives you a look, and waves her hand at you. "Don't be such a sissy, _________." She says, winking at you. "Come on, it won't take long." She grabs your hand you willingly follow along, wondering what it is that Nakia wants so badly to show you. As she begins to walk down the dusty road, both of your shoes creating a thumping noise on the pavement, you give her a sharp look, remembering you're in Vegas. "Do you even know where you're going?" You ask. She gives you a 'duh' look and nods. "You'd think by now you'd know that I ALWAYS remember where I'm going, babe." "Suuree," You tease, fighting a smile. "Whatever you say." The sun had gone down but it was nowhere near to being dark. "So, my gps, tell me, where is our destination?" You ask, pushing your bangs from out of your face. She shrugs, smiling at you. "It's a surprise." You groan and shake your head. "But, I don't like surprises!" You whine, and Nakia huffs out a breath. "And why not?" "Because you never know what to expect." She nods, agreeing with you. "Fair enough," she says and nudges you. "But, expect that it's going to be great." You don't question her again, that is until you're standing in front of a night club called, "Crawl". "Uh, Nakia? You wanna explain to me?" You ask, getting a nervous feeling in your stomach. She links her arm with yours and pulls you along. "Tonight is all about fun right? And with being in Vegas, how could I pass up this amazing opportunity to show you what a real party is?" "Now, why didn't I see this coming?" You ask and she shrugs, winking at you once again. "How are we even supposed to get in? We don't have any I.Ds, plus I'm only-," "Sh!" Nakia says slamming her hand on top of her mouth. "Just go with it," She says, and you guys step up in line. "Really," You whisper to her, hearing the blasting music already. "How are we going to pull this off? I've never even been to one of these before." She doesn't look at you, just looks ahead like she might be thinking. "Just pipe down, I got this," She hisses back and you shift your weight impatiently. You look around, trying not to stare too long at all of the surrounding people. A lot of them were dressed like you and Nakia, but others had crazy hair, facial piercings, colored contacts and tattoos. "What kind of a club is this?" You ask, lowering your voice again. Nakia shrugs, "A club?" She says, and steps up. You realize that you both are next in line. Your heart begins to pound and you try to look cool as you come across a big bouncer guy with a a beard, hard black eyes, and an almost bald head. He takes one good long look at you two, and unlatches the road, signalling for you to go ahead. You frown, but take the chance. Once you and Nakia are past him you mutter, "That was weird.."
  6. Nakia Jae grabs your hand tightly, and yells to you over the pounding music, "Don't let go!" You grip her hand, as she leads you through a crowd of dancing people. Many of them bump into you, smelling of sweat and sometimes drugs. A lot of them eye you, and you avoid all eyes, in case they decide to start a fight. Finally you and Nakia find a spot that isn't so crowded and she begins to move her hips, while you stand there awkwardly watching her. After a couple of seconds, she stops and shoots you a look. "Come on, babe! Have some fun! If you can dance with me, you can dance with these guys. Nobodies paying attention anyways," She tells you and you huff out a sigh. "I don't really.." You trail off and she inches closer. "What was that?" She screams in your ear. "I don't know how to dance like that!" You yell so loud, you were sure that you were going to lose your voice. Nakia lets out a loud laugh and shakes her head. "Don't gimme that! Look, just sway your hips," She puts her hands on your hips, and she begins to move them for you. "Like that," She finishes and you take her place, feeling awkward. "See, that's it!" She says and you can suddenly sense the blood rushes through your body, how hot the club was beginning to get. After a while of dancing, you're parched. "Nakia!" You yell, trying to catch her attention. "Yeah?" She yells back, leaning in to hear you. "I'm thirsty, can we go get a drink?" Instead of answering, she grabs your hand and begins to push people out of her way, and squeezing through the ones who won't move. Once you get to the bar, you both sit on stools, and you wipe your forehead, trying to get rid of the sweat. "Can we go now after this?" You ask her, and she gives you a pleading look. "C'mon, I doubt the moving is even close to being done. We've only been here for what, a good ten minutes?" She says, and you nod. "Yeah, and how long did it take us to walk here? I'm pretty sure they've figured something is up by now, and I don't feel like getting chewed out." You say. "Oh, please, babe. You're forgetting that I'm the master of lying. I got this. We obviously got lost and couldn't find our way back." You raise your eyes at Nakia. "Yep, we're screwed. Oh, don't give me that look, Nakia. They aren't completely stupid." By this time, a tall male, who looked a year or two older than you, was standing in front of you two, waiting for you both to order. He has light blonde hair that looks white, and he's wearing a white shirt and black, maybe blue pants. It's too hard to tell with all the blacklights. He sets his arms on the countertop, and you notice they are covered in what looks like tattoos. He gives you both a warm and inviting look as he waits. "Oh, sorry," Nakia says to him and he gives her a polite smile. "That's alright," he tells her. "What can I get you?" "Two Jager Bombs, please," she orders. "Absolutely not!" You were NOT ever going to get drunk again, you already decided that. Nakia huffs out a sigh and shakes her head. "Fine, Mom," she says. "Hold the Jager," she corrects and he nods. "Coming right up," he says and reaches under the bar. Nakia turns to you again. "Anyways, like I was saying, do you have a better lie?" You shrug, your leg shaking from anxiety. "I'll think of something," You tell her truthfully, though you know it won't be any better than hers. You begin to look around at the crowd of dancers, there were hundreds of them! You notice very few look like you and Nakia, the rest have crazy hair, tattoos, some have piercings, you see a glimpse of what look like those weird contacts that make your eyes look different. This seem odd to you, but you quickly dismiss that as you're handed a green plastic cup full of Red Bull. You thank the bartender, and chug down half of it. "So," You say, folding your arms on the counter top. "How much do we owe you?" You ask him, and he flashes you a grin. "It's on the house, darlin'," He tells you and you can't help but smile too. "Thank you so much, 'cause honestly , I'm broke." You say, truthfully. "Anything for-," He stops talking, and pulls what looks like his cell phone out of his pocket. He gives out a chuckle. "Sorry, but I've got to take this. Enjoy the drinks." He walks in the direction in which you and Nakia entered from and you see Nakia smiling at you. "What? What's that look?" You ask, and her smile broadens. "Anything for you my darling," She mimics him in a high voice and you give her a playful push. "Oh, shut up, Jae. It was out of courtesy!" You protest and she laughs. You begin to look around again, and you begin to search for the bathrooms, in case you had to answer your phone or just plain have to use it. In the midst of you looking for it, you come across a figure leaning against the wall, half hidden in the shadows. His hair shines white in the blacklights, and his bow and arrows hang loosely at his side. "Hey, Jae. I'm going to go use the bathrooms, okay?" You say, not looking at her, fearing that if you look away, Ameer might leave. "Okay, babe. I'll be here, waiting." The bartender had returned and he was now talking to Nakia. As you walked away, you look over your shoulder to see him looking at Ameer, than to you, than back to Nakia, engaging in conversation with her again. When you approach Ameer, he gives you a small smile. "Are you following me?" You ask, keeping your voice friendly. He opens his mouth, than reconsiders it, than opens it again. "Yes," He says, honestly. You give him an awkward smile. "That's a little weird, isn't it?" You ask him and he frowns at you, as if he wasn't comprehending what you're saying. Though you can barely hear him, he seems to hear you just fine. "Merely the opposite," he replies, looking down at you with his butter-gold eyes. They seem to droop whenever you talk. "And how is that?" You dare to ask, and he shrugs. "It is business related." "Hm," You say, thinking of what else to say. "Well, I didn't think you were the club type anyways," You joke and he gives you another small smile. "I appreciate your attempt to lighten the mood," He tells you and you nod, accepting it. "You aren't going to tell on us, are you?" This time you were serious, though you don't think Ameer would dare try to talk to any of the others. "I am only intrustructed to talk to you and Maeve. It is an order from my Lady." You nod, understanding. "Can I ask you something Ameer?" You ask, after a while. "Of course." You try to sense what he's feeling, but you just end up with that awkward feeling in your stomach. "Did you have a choice?" He stares at you, and closes his eyes for a couple of seconds. "No." He says, his head leaning back against the wall, his hair flowing slightly. "Do you.. Think I have a choice?" You ask, starting to feel small beside him. Now he is looking down at you, and you're looking up into his butter-gold eyes. You try to find the answer in his eyes, but all you find is nothing. "No," He shakes his head, and you grow quiet. If you don't have a choice, who's side are you on? That's easy!, you mentally slap yourself. I'm with Raven, I always have been. "Why do you say that?" You ask, trying to get the truth out of him. He doesn't respond right away. "If there's any advice I can ever submit you, it's that sometimes you have to find things out yourself. The hard way." His voice is low, and you lean in to hear better again. You can now smell him, he smells like spring air and soil. It's a smell you actually like. You stay like that, until you realize that you're standing too close and you lean away. "So," You say, trying to break your awkward feeling. "Why are you following me around again?"
  7. You give him a few moments, and he looks like he's chewing on his cheek. "Like I mentioned before, it is strictly business," He says finally, and you frown, still not fully understanding. "So, business? What for?" By now, the music had changed from a dubstep kind of tone, to a more upbeat pop song. "It's just my line of command. As Knight for my Lady what she asks of me, I must obey," He tells you and you nod. "And, what would I need to be watched over for?" He gives you a look of mock surprise. "You are aware that this is a club full of your kind, yes?" "My kind?" You ask, more confused than ever. "What do you mean 'my ki-'" You stop, and you give him a serious look. "Oh," You say, catching on. Before he can reply, you hear someone yelling over the music, and you look back to see Nakia pushing some guy off of her. He comes right back, pushing her and spilling a drink on her. You hurry over to the table, and start to push the guy away from Nakia. "Stop!" You yell, over Nakia's yelling, struggling. He has dark black hair, with an almost blue tint, like he had dyed it. His eyes are too dark to tell the color, but you can still feel the pressure of them. "Better watch yourself, kiddo," He yells back at you, and pushes you into Nakia. "God damn it!" She screeches and pushes you aside, and before you can grab ahold of her, her fist flies into his face, making him back up a few steps. He reacts just as so, hitting her twice as hard. She goes down, and you stare in horror as your best friend covers her face. You become more angry than you remember ever being. You look around for the bartender, but he's not in sight. You look at the people dancing, to find that none of them are paying any attention to you. You look back at Nakia's attacker, to find him smirking at you. You react just as Nakia did, lunging towards him. You and him crash to the ground, and pretty painfully. You begin to hit him, pretty hard in fact. You feel the blood rushing through your ears, and you don't realize when Ameer picks you up. You just keep swinging. "_________," He says calmly into your ear, and you take in deep breaths, feeling a sense of calm flow over your body and you lean into him. "Just breathe, calm down," he coo's and you listen, your eyes searching for Nakia. She is laying on the ground, her hands covering your face, still. The bartender from earlier hovers over her, asking too many questions for her to answer. Ameer slowly sets you down and you run to Nakia, nudging the bartender aside. "Jae?" You say, stroking her hair. She doesn't reply, but you can feel her body shake. "Are you okay?" When she doesn't reply your stomach begins to twist and turn. "Jae, come on, we have to get out of here," You say softly, and she uncovers her face. Her lip is busted and swollen and her right cheek is beginning to bruise. "I'll go take care of him. Don't leave," Ameer tells you and you hold Nakia's hand in your lap. Tears are streaming down her face and she hides it. "You two should probably get out of here," The bartender says to you, and you nod. "I was planning on it." You figure Nakia isn't going to get up, so you stroke her hair some more, and close your eyes. When you open them, you're in your room, sitting on the floor. Nakia begins to sob loudly and it almost sounds like she's screaming. She cusses at no one in particular, ranting on and on about the guy hitting her. Hearing Nakia cry, makes you start to cry. "Shh," You coo, trying to steady your voice. "Nakia, please stop crying," You sooth. "That low life!" she yells into your leg, and you grab her hand. She grips onto it, as if you two were going to be pulled apart. Your heart feels heavy with sadness, knowing you can't do anything to make her feel better. "I know, I know," You whisper, bowing your head down. "Chances are, by the time Ameer's done with him, he's a goner." Her head shoots up slightly, so she's looking up at you. "Ameer, that-, he was there?" She asks. You nod, letting out a sigh. "Why didn't you introduce me to him?" You frown down at her, and shake your head. "I'm sorry, I- I didn't-," You are interrupted by your phone ringing. With shaking hands you pull it out of your pocket and Nakia trudges towards the bathroom. "Hello?" You ask, with a thick voice. "_________? Where in the frick are you?" The voice that comes through the mobile device is both worried and angry. "Max," You breathe, glad it was him. You know if it was Alex he would have given you a hard time. "Just, come to my room. I'll explain everything," You tell him and Nakia pokes her head through the door and stares at you. "No!" She says, and you give her a questioning look. 'Why not?' You mouth to her and she gives you a look. "Do you know how bad Atreyu will react to this?" She says, and you give her a sympathetic look. You put the phone on mute, and set it down. "Jae, he's going to find out anyways. Besides, this was my idea, got it?" You tell her and she shakes her head. "I'm not scared of that, ___________. And I'm not letting you take the fall for me. You're in enough trouble already. Atreyu will freak!" Her voice is shaking while all the time she looks steady. Put together. "Nakia, calm down. I'm taking the blame for this one. It's just a stupid old club anyways." You sooth and she shoots you a sharp look. "Look, babe, you may have been here for a year. But, you do not know Atreyu. Once you get him going, there's no stopping him. He's like a time bomb, looks all cool and collected, but there's something about him, something that makes him bury it all inside, and once that makes it way to the surface, boom," She makes an explosion looking hand gesture. You just stare at her for a good ten seconds before you pick up the phone and take it off mute. "Yeah, sorry about that. So, meet Nakia and I in my room? Like right now?" He agrees and you move yourself up to the bed, wiping your eyes with your shirt. You lay back and cover your face with a pillow, and you feel Nakia sit next to you. "You know," You hear her say. "I love you to death, but sometimes I just wanna strangle the hell outta you." You let out a muffled laugh and Nakia does the same. "It's kinda funny, maybe even ironic," She goes on. "I thought that Maeve was the one who would be getting you into more trouble, but I was wrong. It's me who's getting you in trouble." You sit up and stare at Nakia. Before you can reply, you hear a million questions being thrown at you. "What in the world were you two thinking?" "Where did you go? Why did you go?" "This was supposed to be a night without drama, instead you two just had to ruin it." "Nakia, why are your clothes wet?" You and Nakia Jae stay quiet through it all and avoid looking at anyone. She looks at you, hiding the right side of her face and finally you can hear Atreyu's loud voice. "Jae, why are you hiding your face?" You see her give you a look and her eyes widen. Before she can speak up, you open your mouth. "It was my fault," You say, loudly, looking at everyone. It seems like you were always in this situation. "It was my idea to go to the club." "__________!" Nakia yells at you and whacks your arm. She turns towards Atreyu and Alex and shakes her head. "Don't let her lie to you guys. This was my idea." "What happened to your face? Who did that?" Atreyu was beginning to yell, and you notice everyone shrinking away from him. "Some guy spilled his drink on me and wouldn't quit touching me. When I hit him, he swung right back." Atreyu's eyes turn to you and you scoot back to the edge of your bed, so you're farther away from him. He looks scary angry. His posture seems to change, you can see his muscles tense, his jaw lock. "___________ beat the crap out of him," She adds and you stare down at your red, bruised knuckles. "What did he look like? Where did he go, after?" Atreyu continues yelling and you were beginning to get a headache. "Stop yelling," You snap at him. He shoots you a glare and points at you. Nakia puts her arm on your shoulder, and stares at you, shaking her head. "I suggest you shut your mouth. Because of you this happened. Ever since you got here, things have gotten extremely bad." "Atreyu, that's enough!" Nakia snaps. "No," You say, looking at Atreyu. "He's exactly right. But, what you don't understand, Atreyu, is that you can't just point a finger at the obvious person. This is a messed up world we live in, bad things are supposed to happen." You notice how everyone else hasn't said a word, and you glance over at them. They're all huddled by the door, even Renee. Maeve catches your attention and she comes over and sits beside you. "We're here to get rid of people like you. You're deadweight. You're screwing this up," He says, his deep voice low. "People like me? And what am I like, Atreyu?" He lets out a laugh, but it isn't a humourous one. "You're just a scared little kid, _________! You think you have this figured out, but you don't!" Your face flushes red, and you protest. "I don't know what you're problem is, but just days ago me and you were cool-," "'Cool'? 'Cool'. If you haven't noticed, kid, nothing about this situation is 'cool', therefore you and I, we aren't 'cool'. You need to leave, before you do us worse damage." "Atreyu, I think you've said enough-," Alex begins to say, and you straighten up. "Leave?" You say, bewildered. "This is my room, I think you should be the one leaving." You say, realizing you were beginning to yell. You could feel your anger seeping out of you, and if looks could kill, Atreyu would be gone. "__________," You hear Maeve whisper in your ear. "You need to calm down." "Calm down?" You exclaim. "I'm not the one doing anything!" You can feel the blood rushing in your ears again, almost like a tidal wave, or a storm. You can feel your hair begin to stir. You aren't sure what is going on, but you can't stop it. "See, there you go again!" Atreyu yells, but it sounds muffled. You can't see straight, no matter where your eyes roam, all you can see is black spots. "Causing trouble for everyone!" "Oh, shut up, will you?" You yell at him, your fingers curling into a fist. "I think you should go now, Atreyu." Alex says and you hear Atreyu calling for Nakia, and as her weight is lifted, you don't look at the two of them. "Everyone just calm down!" Maeve yells, and everyone falls silent. "Everyone in this room is overreacting. At least they're safe and fine. Things could have been a lot worse. Besides, fighting is only going to make things difficult," She continues and you breathe out a sigh. "We'll just-uh, go," Sam says pulling Phoenix out of your room and Zaine is quick to follow. This leaves you with Max, Alex, Fang, Renee and Maeve. "That guy, did he hit you too?" Max asks, quietly. You shake your head. "No way, only Nakia. I was on my way to the bathroom when it happened." "Well, what did he look like?" You describe him, and the bartender. They ask you more questions, and you answer them all as best as you can. By the time they're done questioning you, it's late and you're all exhausted.
  8. The next morning, you wake early, and as you look tiredly around the room, you notice the dirty laundry hamper is beginning to overflow and you drag yourself out of the comfort of your bed and into the bathroom. You make yourself decent before waking up Maeve. "Go. Away." She growls at you, and you just give her another shove. "Wake up, Sunshine. Laundry needs done and if you're going to be staying with us, you're going to be helping out." You explain and she throws the covers off of herself and trudges to the bathroom. She spends ten minutes getting ready and once she walks out, her hair is neatly brushed and it hangs in front of her shoulders. She's dressed in her usual white dress, each of them slightly similar. You grab the basket and Maeve's hand you're down in the basement, looking at hundreds of washers and dryers. Barely anyone is down here at this time in the morning, but the few that are down there ignore you. "Alright, find a washer, and use it. If there's clothes in it-," "I know how to use a washer, ___________." Maeve cuts you off and you nod, slightly embarrassed. "Right, sorry," You tell her and you begin to occupy washers, filling them with your dirty clothes, making sure nothing is in any pockets. Maeve mimics your actions, and soon enough you're both lounging around, sitting in plastic chairs. "Why are you having Ameer follow me around?" You ask, upfront. Maeve straightens out her dress and shrugs. "I'm not the one who commanded him. In fact, I don't think he takes orders from anyone but his Lady," Maeve says, shrugging. You narrow your eyes at her, not sure to what she's saying. "So, you're saying it was the Queen of the Unseelie court?" You ask, and she gives you a tiny laugh. "Perhaps." There's a pause, and you use it to gather your thoughts, word things properly. "Maeve, I need you to be honest with me, from now on okay? No more lies, no more ignoring questions. I need to know what is going on. I'm half in, half out. I want to be all the way in. I want to know what's going on," You tell her, seriously. She lets out a long sigh, and looks back at you. Her blue-grey eyes are piercing through you, trying to read you. "I can promise nothing, but I will try to make things more clearer for you. As you already know, you and your friends are up against something big, something very dangerous," she pauses and you interject. "You mean, the war?" You ask and she gives you a slight smile. "You could call it that. It's more of a.. Revolution." "Revolution? You mean-," "Yes, what you prefer to call the "other team" known as those of the "night" or "dark", they're going to overthrow you all. They're going to take over, and make this world their own." You catch your breath, trying to figure something out. "That's impossible," You say in disbelief. "Something like that, it-it just can't-it won't happen." "Don't be so naive. __________, you should have known this was to expected, after you killed Janise. When a head vampire gets killed like that, especially when it's my leader's-," She stops herself, and you frown. "Your leaders what? I thought you didn't have a side!" She gives you a sympathetic look. "We, as beings, tend to choose the side that has the most chance of surviving," She says and you shake your head, beginning to loathe her. "And you don't think that we have a chance? You don't think we're strong enough? We have a frigging army, Maeve. We're just as strong!" You realize that you're rambling and yelling. "My dear friend, you alone are as strong as one army. But so is she." You clench your jaw, getting frustrated. "Excuse me, but who is 'she' and we're all pretty experienced here," You say, showing how offended you are. "My Missus," she simply, and you think back to when Ameer was pushing you with Renee and Maeve, and when Colette called her that. Colette. You wonder what she's doing right now. "Why do you call her Missus?" You say, but it's more of a whisper now. "That's the name she wishes to be called." You listen to the sounds of the washers and dryers, the sounds clashing together. "Is she your leader?" you ask after moments. Maeve nods, and she stretches out her body, popping joints. "So, why does she want the necklace?" You reach to your neck, automatically but nothing's there. Maeve doesn't answer, and you sigh, shaking your head. "You said-," "She doesn't want the necklace, __________. She wants you," She says, quickly, like she's been holding that in. "Go figure," You remark, sarcastically.
  9. When the rest of the laundry is done, you gather up all of the clothes, and take trips teleporting them up to your room. Maeve heads to your computer and within minutes she's playing some weird piano music. It's actually quite nice. Instead of helping you fold the clothes, she begins to dance. At first, it was just a sway of her hips. Than, it turned into her legs, moving gracefully and slow. Eventually her whole body was moving, sometimes at once, sometimes independently. You watch her, trying to figure out the pattern, how she could be so graceful, so elegant. "Need some help?" Your attention is turned to the little girl beside you. "Sure, thanks," You tell April and she begins to pick up clothes and folds them just like you are. "Have you ever folded clothes?" You ask her. She doesn't look like she has. "Not really, I've watched so many people though, so I think I got the hang of this," She tells you, keeping her eyes on the clothes. You give out a small laugh. "Everyone folds clothes differently, sometimes, April." She cracks a smile and shrugs. "Why's she dancing like that?" she asks quietly, gesturing to Maeve. She's dancing just as she did at the Unseelie Court. "Culture, maybe? I don't know!" You whisper back. "You know, there may be music playing, but I can very well hear you two," Maeve says, and runs her hands through her hair. Her eyes are closed, and the light from the windows reflect off of her skin, making her even more pale and in a sense, glowing even. "You definitely got to show me how to dance like that," April says in awe. "Stand up, than," Maeve orders and April drops the shirt she was folding and joins Maeve. "Hey now, what-what is this?" You ask, in mock shock. "You're just going to leave me to fold all of these clothes?" April laughs and nods. "Yeah," she says, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. "Alright, now put your hands down to your sides like this, and just sway for now," Maeve commands, and you fold the rest of the laundry watching April learn how to dance. It was around noon, and you were beginning to get hungry. "Anyone up for some food?" You ask, standing up. "Right behind you," Maeve answers, and you're out the door, walking to the cafeteria. You stretch your arm out to the wall, and you feel it's smooth texture on your fingertips. "One of these days, my handwriting's going to mark these walls," You tell Maeve, and she frowns. "Why not today?" "Well," You begin to explain. "I want whoever to read it, really guess the meaning of it. I don't want to write something that is so obvious. I want it to mean something, something that people are endlessly guessing on what it means." Maeve nods, slightly. "And only you will know the true meaning." She says, rather than questioning. "Right," You nod, and you're in the cafeteria. The first person you spot is Nakia, sitting with Atreyu and Max. You are hesitant about going around Atreyu, so you avoid going directly to the table. "Babe!" You hear Nakia yell, and you look back, unsure if she was talking to you or Atreyu. Her green eyes are focused on you, and you smile, waving her over. When you hug her, it's like you haven't seen her in years. Her perfume soaks into your skin, and it makes you calm. The pressure of her body reassures you. When you pull back, she's smiling. The only reminder that last night happened is the bruises on her face. "Babe, sit with us," She says and you shrug. "I don't know if I can, Jae," You say. "Oh, come on! You know Atreyu didn't mean it. In fact, he feels pretty guilty about it.." When she trails off, you try not to get an attitude. Instead, you keep your voice level. "Yeah, but he can't take back what he said, can he? Guilty won't take that back either." She gives you an understanding look. "I know, babe. But, please? Don't let this change us. He'll apologize sometime.." "Sometime? Hell, he might as well just keep that to himself." You say, but you agree anyways. You grab a chicken patty sandwich and some tater tots and some ranch and you sit with by Nakia. "Hey! The party's here!" Max yells and you rolls your eyes playfully at him. "So, my dearest friend, tell me about that club, eh? Thinkin' about going more often?" Max asks, reaching for your tater tots. You slap his hand away and shake your head. "Not really, why? Do you enjoy me going out and having my best friend treated like a rag doll?" You ask, your voice complete seriousness. Max is silent, and he looks a bit embarrassed. "Ah, hell, __________. I'm sorry, I-I didn't-," You bust out laughing and you cover your mouth and try to swallow, so food doesn't come out of your mouth. "Holy crap, you shoulda seen your face, Maxy boy!" You say, and Nakia is laughing too. His nose scrunches up, and his face goes red. He crosses his arm and turns his head. "You know I hate being called 'Maxy boy'," he says, with his head still turned. You manage to choke down your laughter and you ruffle his hair, which he reluctantly pulls back from your touch. "Aw, come on, Max. It was just a joke. You can handle those can't you?" You ask, eating a tater tot. He turns his head more, huffing out a breath to show you that he's "not talking to you." "Oh, max. Max, Max, Maxy boy. If only you knew how good these were," You coo, and he glances over to you, but when you look back up his head is turned again. "There's that name again," He says, to no one in particular. "Mmm, just friggin' amazing, Maxy boy. Amazing," You say, and you see his jaw twitch, and his eyes crinkle with laughter. "Would you like one?" You ask, and his hands reach out. You pull back your trey so it's out of his reach and he gives you a pout. "Come on, __________! I'm starving! You know one meal does not satisfy all of this!" He gestures to himself and you grin. "Oh, I'm sorry. That sounds like a personal problem, might want to get that fixed." You say as you begin to dig into your chicken patty. Max takes the opportunity to take the rest of your tater tots and you let him, dipping your sandwich in ranch. You notice that Atreyu hasn't said a word. When you look up at him, he's glaring down at his food. Looking at him makes you think of the dream you had days ago. The one with the mermaid. It happens almost every other day and with that, the burn on your arm seems more bigger. You've decided that if it happens again, you're going to get it treated. Just not yet. While you think about it, the stinging of it comes back, and you've used all of your antibiotics. You are more than willing to ignore it, forget all about it, but Nakia continues you touch your arm, in that spot. "Jae, do you want to go on a walk with me?" You ask, finishing your sandwich. "Sure," she says, figuring that was the best answer. You throw your trash away and as you two are walking out, you spot Maeve and April sitting at a table nearby, and Maeve is talking her head off. A couple of people give her strange looks, and you can't help but giggle. "What's on your mind?" She asks, as soon as you two are out of there. "Did Atreyu give you a hard time last night?" You avoid the subject and shrugs. "Not really. Did any of the boys give you a hard time?" You shake your head. "No." You both grow silent, and your mind begins to wander. You begin to think of what Maeve told you this morning, how the others were eventually going to try to overthrow yours. You chew on your lip, and think of what a whole new worry that was. "Jae, will you go with me to talk to Raven?" You ask, and she gives you a questioning look. "Of course," she says, and you two change direction
  10. Once you have told Raven, you three sit in silence. Even Nakia doesn't say a word. Say something, say something, say something, you will Raven. Your legs shake from anxiety, suddenly wondering if it was a mistake coming here and telling her. "We have to get rid of her," she finally says and you frown. "What do you mean by 'get rid of'?" You ask, though you know exactly what she means. When she doesn't give you a reply, you jump to your feet. "No!" You exclaim. "You can't do that." Raven shakes her head. "I can, and I will," She says, and your heart begins to pound. "Raven, you can't just go around killing people for choosing something you don't like." She frowns at you, and you take in a deep breath. "This isn't a matter of who chooses who, you silly child," She says, her tone beginning to sound bitter. "This is a matter of surviving. Have you no idea of the things she is capable of? Do you understand how important it is that I-as our leader-insure the safety of this place?" Your jaw clenches. "But you don't have to kill Maeve to keep us safe," You tell her, keeping your voice level. "This is more than just your friend, __________. This is about safety." "Than just kick her out, you don't have to kill her. Please, Raven. You don't realize what kind of riot will break out, if they found out that we-you-killed a Nyxus, one who belongs to them." As much as you hate Maeve for choosing the other side, you had to understand that she doesn't have much of a choice. Plus, she was, afterall, one of your friends. "If we don't take action now, we will be crushed." Her eyes never leave yours, and you know that no matter what you say, she isn't going to change her mind, though you still have to try. "This isn't about safety," You protest. "This is about getting even. And it's going to get us all killed." Her eyes are like daggers, cutting every inch of your core. "There are things that you don't yet understand, and I hope that before you begin to make accusations you will know the full truth." "The truth about what?" You snap, feeling frustrated. She doesn't say a word, instead she stands, and slowly walks behind her chair. You watch her, taking in how her turquoise blue eyes stand out against her pale skin, and that purple streak in her white hair stands out like a bruise. Her stare is intense, burning even. "You tell her that she has twenty-four hours to pack her belongings and leave. She has twenty-four hours to run." You shake your head. Raven's voice doesn't quiver, nor shake. It doesn't hold any hint of remorse or guilt. Though, somehow you don't believe a word she's saying. "I'm not going to tell her that for you," You keep your voice low, feeling as if you had anchors tied to your hands and feet and you were being dragged ten feet below the waves. "I will," Nakia interjects and you shoot her a look. She gives you a rueful smile, and looks down at her feet. "Sorry.." You turn back to Raven, and she keeps her eyes on you as she speaks to Nakia. "That's acceptable, Nakia. You do what you need to." Your cheeks turn red and your face scrunches. "As for you, I suggest the next time you come in here, you will have a more understanding of why I must take these actions, regardless of consequences. I admire you, __________, and it burdens me to see how upset you are by this world you live in. But, that doesn't give you the choice to let people and their actions slip you by. That, my dear child, is what will get you killed." You open your mouth, about to reply when Nakia's hand is on your arm, pulling you out the door and you look back to find Raven's elbow resting on the arm of her chair, and two fingers and her palm resting against her cheek, and her thumb resting under her jaw. She isn't looking at you two anymore.
  11. By the time you get to your room, you're angry, frustrated, and your wrist hurts. You lay on your bed for minutes, debating on whether it was worth it to get up and go talk to Scar about it. You let out a sigh, and focus on the tingling in your finger tips, and within seconds it's flowing throughout your body. You open your eyes to find yourself lying on the infirmary floor, and you slowly stand up. "If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing on the floor?" You turn to see a girl with dark brown, possibly black hair, and beautiful violet eyes. Violet eyes that look familiar. "Jay?" You breathe out her name, a big smile starting to spread throughout your face. "Ohmygoodness!" You throw your arms around her, squeezing her in a hug. She grunts, and pats your back with one hand. "Hey, Kiddo." She says, and you pull back. "What are you doing here? Are you hurt?" You begin to examine her body, searching for cuts, bruises, scratches or swelling. "Oh, I'm dandy now!" She dismisses your worrying with the wave of her hand. "Hey, check this out." She lifts up her white tanktop, showing off a scar that goes from her lower back, up her abdomen and over to higher her rib cage. You stare at it, the white line that she will have forever. "Hella awesome battle wound, right?" You make a face of displeasure. She laughs, and you sit on the bed beside her. "Well, go on," She encourages. "Ask me how I got it." This is the Jay you remember, not the one from the months of hell and the satisfactory she got from you killing her mother. "You think I feel bad? Sure, I loved the old hag but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?" She had joked making you crack a smile. You hadn't seen her since then. "Where did you get it?" You ask, and she bursts with energy, telling you all about how she had moved in with her aunt in some town she called "Nowheresville" and you don't question it. It seems like something Jay would say. "Oh, __________. The boys there are so hot, you wouldn't even believe! Anyways, so, I was walking home from the bar and-," "Woah, hold up. You went to a bar?" You interrupt and she gives you a sly smile. "Okay, so maybe it wasn't a bar.. More like a club. But, anyways!" She carries on quickly. "I was walking home and these guys tried to block my path and you know, they were pretty attractive so.." You roll her eyes and she laughs again. "But, they were total ass' and they told me to get down on my knees and things just kinda went downhill from there. Resulting in this," She gestures to her scar. "When did that happen?" You ask, eyeing her. Her hair was longer, her skin the same white pale it always has been Her posture is confident, and her smile shows off her perfect teeth, with occasional glimpses of her pointed fangs. "Last night. That's why I'm here. Word on the street is that your little healer here is the best you can find." "Hm," You say, still staring at her. She was the same girl you grew up with, so why did you have the feeling something was different? That you don't know her anymore? "So, my sidekick, what brings you here?" You're slightly caught off guard by her question, and you shrug. "I got a nasty burn," You say, lifting up your sweatshirt sleeve to show her. "No kidding! That thing looks amazing!" She takes your wrist in her hands, examining it more. "How'd you get it?" Jay's fascination with cuts and bruises and scars made you uncomfortable, but nevertheless you smile. "A mermaid, I think," You say truthfully and she looks up at you laughing. "What?" You say, pulling your arm back and rolling the sleeve down. "Mermaids can't burn you, _________. I see you're still learning. Do they teach you anything here?" Your face flushes red and you frown. "Well, I don't know how I got it. I just woke up with it, and it's been getting worse." "That's how it always is, isn't it?" she says and you frown up at her. "No, I'm not-. I'm telling the truth," You protest. She holds her hands up as a surrender, and gives you another giant smile. "Secrets safe with me, kid," She says.
  12. You're about to tell Jay once again that it isn't like that, when a gentle voice stops you. "_________, what a surprise. I wasn't expecting to see you here, otherwise I would have been more prepared." You turn to see Scar standing in the middle of the walkway, a smile on her face. You return it. "That's okay, Scar. I should have called down here or something." She waves that off with her hand. "Nonsense, it's alright. I've got a few patients that I need to tend too, but I'll be just with you." She walks off to another bed, and you turn back to Jay. "How long are you staying for?" You ask and she shrugs. "I was just about to leave when some idiot decided to lay on the floor, blocking my exit." You smile, and shrug. "People are weird these days," You say, making her laugh. "Yeah, yeah. So, kiddo, how've you been?" You take time to think about this. How have you been? "Things are really.. Stressful, these days." You decide to put it that way. "But," You say, not bringing that up again. "You should stay here for a couple of days." She gives you a small smile and shrugs. "I dunno, ___________. I gotta get back to the team, gotta make sure things are a-okay." You frown. "What team?" "You know," She says, popping her knuckles. "Someone had to take my mom's place. And it couldn't have been exactly anyone." You nod, understanding. "Oh." Is all you say. "Oh, come on. It's not like that. I'm nowhere close to what she was." "You know, you keep popping your bones like that, you'll be paying for it when you're older." She rolls her eyes, her bangs falling over them. "Don't be such a mom," She complains before smiling again. "Besides, I like the sound." "God, you're messed up." "I know~" she says in a sing-song voice. "Your team can do without you for a couple of days, because I'm not letting you leave." She gives you a look of mock surprise. "Is that so?" "It is." "Well, that settles it. I'm being held captive against my will. I'll call them later, let them know. In the meantime, we'll just see what to do about that." She gestures down to the burn on your wrist as Scar appears beside her. Her hair is pulled up in a bun, and she smiles warmly at you. "Alright, what have we got here? Ouch, how'd you get that one?" She holds your wrist in your hand and you give her a sheepish grin. "I actually don't know," You confess. "I'm trying to remember." She nods, examining it more. "Have you tried any human antibiotics yet?" You nod. "Yeah, but it seems like they didn't work or I got the wrong ones.." She frowns, making a ticking noise with her tongue. "Hm," She says before smiling up at you again. "Well, I'm sure everything's alright. You probably got the wrong ones. It doesn't look too bad too heal so I'll just do a home remedy. I'll be back." She walks off somewhere, and you turn back to Jay. "Tell me about your friends, I'm in the mood for a good story." You grin, your heart hurting from all the joy you're feeling, being reunited with your best friend. You tell her about Nakia first, explaining how close you two are, and about last night. Next you tell her about {________} and she makes a joke about how she knew you two would end up together. After, you tell her about Atreyu and Zaine, and you're just getting through with Maeve when Scar appears again. "Okay," she says, taking your wrist again. "Sorry to interrupt," She adds. "Oh, it's fine," You reassure her. She wraps something wet around your wrist, and you flinch a little, not expecting it. "Relax," she says softly. "It'll help with the burning and itching, and it should be gone by tomorrow morning." "Thanks," You say, moving your wrist around, making sure it wasn't going to come off. Scar grins. "Sure thing, hun." You thank her again, as you grab Jay's hand and teleport the both of you up into your room. "Wait," Jay says, looking around your room. "Has it changed since the last time I was here?" You make a face, and shrug. "Possibly, I haven't noticed." She moves to the closet, looking through your clothes. "Well," she sighs. "At least there are some things I can wear while I stay here," she complains and you playfully shove her. "It's not my fault you're so picky when it comes to clothes," You tease and she laughs. "If you share this room with two other people, how am I going to have a place to sleep?" You chew on your lip, thinking about it. "Humph, well.." You trail off still thinking. "Maeve's leaving so.. I guess, Renee can have her bed back, and me and you can share my bed." "Woah, wait-hold up. Why's she leaving?" Jay's eyes hold a hint of amusement. "Oh. Yeah, guess I left that one out. Uh, long story short, she's being considered as a spy for the others so.. Raven wants her to leave." A door opens and both you and Jay turn towards the bathroom door to find Renee standing there, brushing her wet hair. "Did I just hear I'm getting my bed back?" "Hey, kid. Long time, no see, right?" Renee smiles at her. "Hey, Jay." She sets the brush on the sink, and starts for the door. "I'm going to go get my clothes, I'll be back." Once she's gone, Jay turns to you and closes your closet door. "So, where is it?" You frown, shaking your head. "Where's what?" You ask in confusion. Jay rolls her eyes and huffs out a breath. "Come on, ___________. Practically everyone knows by now. Where's the necklace?"
