C1 is a secret heir to a powerful kingdom but has been living a quiet, isolated life away from their royal bloodline. C2 is a royal advisor/guardian/whatevuh you want who must persuade them to return, with tensions rising as C1 grapples with responsibilities they never asked for.
i don’t care what role i get, leaning toward c2 tho :D unless someone else wants it xd
i was thinking the kingdom could be falling apart, or the king/queen was murdered in the middle of a huge war, so an heir’s needed to take the kingdom’s place :0 buuut we’ll see as the story goes on if someone shows up -

Characteristics: he’s a hard-edged guy who prefers to keep things blunt and honest for his own mental sake. he’s funny but in an ironic, dry-humor-ish fashion. he’s brave, but also stubborn, and just a weeee 👌 bit jaded
Backstory (optional): Ronan’s father served as a royal guard in the castle when he was a child. he was just an early teenager (12-14) when a dragon attack was launched on the castle to take some treasure for themselves. his father was eaten by one of the dragons (a red one) and ever since, Ronan’s dedicated his life to tracking down the dragon that killed his father. he followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming a royal guard
Additional information (optional): he hates dragons with a BURNING passion and is now the “local dragon expert” since he has a wee bit of an unhealthy obsession with them. he’s the dragon wikipedia, and he spends his free time either researching dragons or hunting dragons. TRYING to hunt dragons more like

It was a chilly afternoon, and not one Ronan was particularly fond to be out on – he’d much rather have stayed home, cozy and content by his little hearth adjacent to the little wooden door used as the entrance to his cottage. Unfortunately, that wasn’t how life worked, especially on a Monday. Duty called, whether or not whoever it was calling was mentally available.
Though, this day wasn’t just a Monday – it was a rather peculiar Monday. As he passed through the castle’s gates per routine, there was something inexplicably changed about the air. He was greeted with sullen, downcast expressions versus the neutral wave and muttered greetings he’d receive any other day. Ronan adjusted to the changed atmosphere (albeit incredibly bemused and slightly uncomfortable) by stiffening his shoulders, in doing so tensing himself for whatever duties or news he may secure. -

"Ronan! Rona- Oh, there you are," one of the maids spoke as she spotted the guard, rushing over. "Ronan, the king wishes to speak with you," she added as she folded her hands behind her back, watching the man. -

Ronan instinctively flinched back as a maid hurriedly rushed over to him, shooting his hands up in self defense. He’d stumbled over himself like a foolish man, though had quickly regained his bearings once he’d realized the maiden was only relaying a message – which wasn’t any less strange than the atmosphere of the village, who’s streets were normally bustling with activity in the afternoon.
As she stated the king wished to speak with Ronan, Ronan could only raise a skeptical eyebrow at her. He sheepishly pointed his finger at himself, then back at her, tilting his head in question. “Directly? Are you mistaken?–“
It seemed alien, as the king had only ever given direct duties to Ronan through vague texts or sent a maid to relay the messages for him. However, Ronan reluctantly nodded, decidedly accepting this information for what it was than waste his energy over a trivial dispute.
“Is everything in order, my lady?” Ronan gently queried the lady in a somber tone, clearing his throat to appear more formal. “Everyone seems awfully panicked. I’ve only just woken up, you see,”
Ronan blatantly disregarded the fact it was afternoon.
