Chester looked away. ‘I’m not denying it. It was just a blur.’
Maeve threw her hands up in exasperation. ‘Do you not understand, Chester?! You threatened to hurt your boyfriend! You can’t just do that!’
Chester rubbed his temples. ‘You think I don’t know that?!’ -
Jayden leaned his head on the door so he could hear better.
Maeve gave Chester a look like: "then why DID you?!" though she didn't say anything out loud for a bit. -
Chester looked up at her, on the verge of tears. ‘Please, Maeve, believe me,’ he said. ‘I don’t know what happened.’

Maeve stopped herself from yelling at him, noticing him about to cry.

Chester looked away. ‘I really love Jayden. I would never do something bad to him. Please tell him that.’

"Fine." Maeve said before disappearing.
Jayden didn't hear that part. Maeve appeared next to him. He let go of the doorknob. -
Chester lay back down onto his bed, crying into Jayden’s sweater. Maeve looked down.
‘God, he’s so dumb,’ she muttered. -
Jayden looked at her, not saying anything. He wiped his eyes again.

Maeve stepped forward and hugged him.

Jayd hugged her back tightly.

Maeve sighed. ‘Jayden?’

"Yeah?"

‘How’d you get him to snap out of it?’

"I told him I'd report him to the news and kick him out."

Maeve nodded. She sighed and pulled away. ‘I’ll be right back.’
A few seconds later, she appeared with Oliver, who was complaining, ‘Twice in one day? I’ve got things to do, Maeve!’
