Maeve collapsed on Jayden’s bed, tummy first. Her arms and legs hung off the sides. ‘Have you and Chester ever fought before?’ she mumbled.

Jayd thought about that, sitting next to her. "I mean, whenever I talk to him about potentially having a party or pranks he shuts me down pretty fast, but other than that, not really."

Maeve grumbled something under her breath. Then she said, ‘But have you like, fought-fought? As in being really really angry with each other?’

Jayden shook his head. "Not yet." I hope not for a loooong time. "What happened?"

‘My g- friend is really mad at me,’ Maeve mumbled quietly. She sniffed.

Jayd heard the stutter and frowned. "Mind if I ask why?" He asked quietly.

‘Yes. I don’t really want to talk about it.’

Jayden gave a small nod. "Alright, I get it." He paused for a moment. Then he got an idea. "Would a prank help you feel better?" He asked hopefully.

Maeve rolled over. She had a small smile on her lips. ‘What kind of prank?’

"Well, I've got a couple ideas. Do you know where the food coloring is?"

‘Yes!’ Maeve said, jumping up into a sitting position.

Jayd grinned. "Good! Grab it and meet me in the bathroom by the library!"

Maeve nodded eagerly and popped out of the room.

Jayden went to the bathroom by the library as fast as he could.

Maeve was already there. ‘What are you planning yo do?’ She was holding three small bottles of food colouring, red, blue and yellow.
