"I dunno either, that's why I'm asking you." Jayden imitated their accent in an attempt to be funny.

They blinked. Before they could come up with a snarky response, the door to the bathroom opened, revealing Chester standing there, wearing a button up and dark green slacks.
‘Ah, Atlas. You’ve finally decided to come back from your vacation,’ he said, putting on one of his rings.
The butler huffed and put down the figure they’d been fiddling with. ‘f--- you.’
‘I have a boyfriend.’
‘And I like girls.’
(Atlas because writing my name feels weird and it’s so much cooler) -
(hell yeah love that pookie my name'll be Aster in that case)
Jayden looked at the two of them, very amused. "There's a letter for you." He handed the letter to Chester. -
(Hell yeah we love Atlas and Aster they can be besties)
Chester took the letter and opened it. Atlas made a clicking sound with their mouth. Chester frowned at the piece of paper, then handed it to Jayden.
The letter read:
To Jayden and his f--- ass boyfriend,
The Celestes formally invite you to the East Kingdom to celebrate the birthday of Jayden Celeste, hosted in the Royal Palace. The presence of those invited is non-negotiable.
Sincerely wishing the worst,
Astrid Celeste, future King and party host. -
(I forgot to mention this but the party Astrid wants to throw would be a week before Jayden’s birthday, a few days before Chester and Jayden would leave for the cabin in the woods)

Jayden read it, looking up at Chester. "I don't want to go." -
‘I don’t want to go either,’ Chester said, sitting down next to him and pulling him close.

Jayden crumpled up the letter and tried to throw it at the trash can. It missed horrendously, and hit Atlas's shoe.

Atlas picked it up and drop kicked it. It bounced off the window.
Chester played with Jayden’s hair. ‘Bunch of a--holes,’ he muttered. ‘They can’t make us go.’ -
"They'll make it a big deal if we don't, though." Jayden muttered. "Disgracing the family, embarrassing the kingdom.... all that fun stuff."

‘The kingdom will live if you don’t go to a birthday party,’ Chester huffed, pulling him closer. ‘Why did Astrid call himself the future king?’

"He's just being a prideful ass."

‘I guess.’ Chester played with his hair, sighing.

Jayden leaned into him. He forgot Atlas was there for a hot second, and looked up at them after a moment.

Atlas was watching the two, feeling very single.
‘Are we going or not?’ Chester asked Jayden softly.
