Chester was almost finished his breakfast.

Jayden sat down next to him, burying his head in his hands. "My kingdom knows you're a murderer." He mumbled, not bothering to sugarcoat it.

Chester froze, hand stilling. He was silent for a few moments. ‘How?’

"Astrid started a rumor." His voice was shaking. "I'm so sorry."

Chester dropped his fork. ‘f---,’ he muttered, staring at his food. He exhaled shakily and pushed a plate towards Jayden, forcing a smile, but everything else about him was conveying terror. ‘I-It’s fine, it’s not y-your fault..’

Jayden wasn't stupid. He knew Chester was petrified. He held him close.

Chester buried his face in Jayden’s shoulder, shutting his eyes tight. His shaky hands pulled Jayden close.

Jayden held him tight. "Deep breaths, I've got you." He murmured softly.

Chester held onto his tightly, breathing heavy and shaky. ‘Th-This can’t be happening. Please say this is a joke.’

Jayden didn't answer, holding him tighter.

Chester let out a choked sob into Jayden shirt, grip on him tightening.

"I'm not letting you go to jail." Jayden said firmly. "Okay?"

‘That’s not something you can help, love,’ Chester said in a shaky voice, gripping Jayden’s s---. ‘F-f---, this is horrible…’
