Eli smiled, now on the steps to the porch. "Thanks Callum."

Callum nodded. Claudia sighed.

"How'd you make this shadow thing anyway?" Eli asked quietly.

'I'd rather not talk about it.'

"Alright, makes sense." Eli said, smiling gently.

Callum pursed his lips, looking away.
'We can brainstorm later. You two must be starving,' Callum's father said. -
Eli nodded, grinning. "Yeah, what d'you got?"

Callum's father gestured for them to walk inside.

Eli walked inside, waiting for Callum to follow.

Callum followed.
'Not too much food manages to find it's way into the darkness, which is why we have this gadget,' Callum's father said, grabbing a small cube. 'It gives us whatever food we need.' -
"Woah, that's so cool!" Eli said, looking at the cube in amazement. "How does it work?"

'Well, it's not so much machinery as it is magic,' he chuckled. 'You just push the button and tell it what food you want.'

"So cool!" Eli said, smiling as they pulled up a chair and sat down.

Callum sat down as well.
'Eli, you can go first,' his father said, handing the small cube to Eli. -
Eli pushed the button. "Chicken Alfredo." They said, and a plate full of the stuff popped up. "Best magic ever."
