"What would you like to know?" Jaime asked. Himself was such a vague topic it was difficult to talk about it.
-
"Surprise me," Question drawled, pulling a phone out of his pocket, typing for a moment before promptly putting it back in. "What were you saying again?"
-
"I hadn't said anything yet," Jaime said with a roll of his eyes. "Anyway, you already know about my family, both parents and an older sister."
-
"But the details, Jaime. I don't want to hear the dry facts. I want to hear what how you feel and what you think. I'd like to pick your brain a little. Not literally, of course," he said with a nervous laugh. "Unless...?"
-
"No, I don't want you to literally pick my brain," Jaime said. "And I don't want to give you anything except the "dry details.""
-
"It wouldn't be a first for me," Question shrugged. "And why not? Complicated relationship?"
-
"No," Jaime said. He was surprised it wasn't so obvious why he didn't want to say anything.
-
"You people with your little thoughts and little lives. Your lifespan is merely a blink in the eye of the universe," Question hummed. "Why won't you talk? Is it the topic?"
-
"And why should I tell you that?" Jaime said with a roll of.his eyes. You were practically able to hear the eye roll in his voice.
-
"You have nothing better to do. I'm the only other person you've interacted with in...oh, a while."
-
Actually I think not telling you about my personal life is a much better decision," Jaime said.
-
"Why would you? I still have your files~" Question hummed playfully. "I just want your help in making it a little less bland. It's so drab and boring."
-
"Well, you're just going to have to settle for drab and boring," Jaime said. "I'm assuming I'm going to be meeting this "family" of yours sometime soon?"
-
Question typed in the code for a door and it slid open mechanically. "Soon. But not just yet." A warm meal was sitting on a simple table, a bathroom behind a closed door and a bed in the corner. "You must be ready for it."
-
Jaime tried to watch the code but he could only keep track of the two before losing focus via Question's quick fingers. When the door opened he walked into the room.
Jaime also took note of the man's words. Whatever this family was, Question wanted him to be a part of it. And whatever Question wanted was not going to be good for him. He needed to figure out exactly what would make him "ready" so he could prevent it.
