Winter shrieked, trying to run backwards. That only resulted in her falling flat on her bottom.
She quickly picked up a stick, her heart racing, and held it to Jasper.
"Who are you?" -
"No one you need to point a stick at," Jasper said, nearing her.

"You're a stranger who might try to kill me. This is a perfect reason to point a stick at you!" Winter exclaimed.

Jasper opened his mouth to speak, but then realized that he did have a weapon in his hand. "I was hunting," he said.

"That's very suspicious considering you snuck up on me." Winter muttered.

"I didn't sneak," Jasper said. "The woods are dangerous. I was making sure you weren't a threat."

"By sneaking up on me?"

"I can't tell if you're a threat if you know I'm there," Jasper said.

“Do I look like a bear to you?" Winter snapped, glaring at him.

"You mean you don't know what's in these woods?" Jasper inquired.

"I know that there's wild animals. Namely my brother." Winter mumbled, fiddling with her fingers.

"We'll there's also dangerous people," he said. "And considering the first thing you used to try and defend yourself with was a stick, I figure you're not a very big threat."

"Says mister-thinks-everything-he-comes-across-is-a-threat." Winter said, narrowing her eyes and crossing her arms.

"And look, I'm still alive," he said. "If you were defending yourself with a stick against anything else in these woods you wouldn't be."

"Well what do you suggest?" Winter asked.
