“What the woman said,” The old man nodded, agreeing with what Rasia had said. “Because I’m rather hungry as of now. Would you two like to stay for dinner? I’m pretty sure both of you are famished.”
“N-“ Felix was about to decline, but immediately remembered what Varian had told them. “I mean, y-yes! We would love to stay for supper.”
“Perfect! Follow me, youngsters.” The old man stood up from his spot and waddled out the door, beckoning them to follow him.
"Well, I was always the kind for a small game of charades!" The old man giggled, suddenly leaping up off of the ground and glaring at the couple, a mischievous grin forming on his face.
"Rasia, we should be careful. There’s no telling what this guy will do to us if we don’t get it right.” Felix whispered to her, his tone a bit frantic.
“Now, you only have three guesses, so guess wisely!” The old man started skipping around the room.
The old man stared at them in disbelief for s few seconds. He clutched his stomach and dipped his head backwards, roaring in laughter.
“Yes! Yes!” He beamed as he placed his boney arms on his hips. “That’s exactly correct! Good work, lady, you earn the wondrous prize of keeping your precious life!”
Felix gritted his teeth and clenched his fists tightly. A glob of nervous sweat trickled down his face as he visibly gulped. So, the old man, Skipper, was planning to kill them had Rasia used her three guesses incorrectly? There was one word for this treacherous game Skipper was putting them through. 'Disgusting.'
And, judging by the fact that they had their lives on the line just when they arrived, Felix reckoned that the young couple would be going through a series of seemingly harmless challenges that inevitably could lead to death if they didn’t stay on their toes.
Rasia looked at Felix wide-eyed. It would have cost her life if she hadn't guessed a name correctly?
She let out a sigh and looked at Skipper. "What next?" she asked. The faster they got through this the faster Axel could get better and they could get out of there.
