Yeah, people do that too! They mainly just use this format:
C1 is a (blablablabla) C2 is a (blablabla) (Then basically you just enter the plot)

Here's an rp example:

Hello, I'm back!)

[insert name] ran through the hallway, they needed to see [insert other person]

(And you can choose if your person is hurt.)

Also roleplays use * or - for actions. Ex *runs through the hallway*
