(I'm already procrastinating watching a s--- ton of movies I want to watch.)
"I don't suppose you're gonna tell me that's a metaphor." she said with a smile, finishing the bread in a few bites.
She blinked, missing a few beats while his little speech registered. She licked the crumbs off her fingertips and wiped her fingers on her dress.
"Sorry sweetie. I've been here twenty minutes already and I have just such a busy schedule ahead of me today."
She paused, picking up the overly intricate glass of water sitting on the table in front of her and taking a short sip. She licked her lips before continuing.
"But yes, you're right, this is important. By all means, let's take our time."
She lowered her hands into her lap, glancing him over once. She sighed and smiled sweetly at him.
"How are you?" -
"I'm sorry about that, Miss Tayiro."
It was a bad habit of Dan to almost never make it on time. And this time it had affected the mission.
As she went on, suddenly Dan's eyes widened at her last question. It got him, out of thin air, totally unexpected of "the target".
"Me? I'm fine. Enjoying your company. How are you, Miss Tayiro?"
Dan put out the cigarette and took a bite off his bread. There was certainly some change of plans, but he was gonna play along. -
"Good, good. Thanks for asking. A bit nervous, you know, oh-" she caught the waiter that was picking up her glass of water by the wrist, picking up a menu with her other hand and flipping it open with the unoccupied fingertips. She pointed out a pasta dish and glanced up at him with a smile.
"-can I have this? Would that be okay?"
"Uh, yes ma'am. Yeah."
"Great, thanks."
She let go of his wrist and watched him refill the water and leave. As he went, she blinked and looked over at Daniel.
"Sorry, I haven't eaten all day. Like I said, very busy. Did you want something? You know, we'll catch someone if they walk by. Sorry about that, I didn't even think about it."
She took another sip of her newly refilled water.
"Like I was saying, a bit nervous. Like you said, this is important. Really important. This'll be cool, though." -
"It's not a problem."
Dan looked curiously at her, and then turned around to call a waiter.
"Excuse me? I'd like to order."
When the waiter was gone, Dan focused his attention on her again.
"Cool? hmm. I assume you know the main reason for this meeting, and this contract we're supposed to make. The Slash's, and as I've heard Silver's, shares are dropping in value in the market, and it's all because of an old enemy, the military. It's indirectly meddling with us in order to lessen our influence on the city and then slowly bring us down. I'm pretty sure you realize the threat."
Actually, the military was becoming more and more of an issue everyday. But the authority in The Slash, saw this as an opportunity to get rid of both problems, the military and Silver. -
"Cool, yeah. Yeah, I know all about this. I pay attention sometimes."
She picked up the glass and acknowledged for her own benefit that the water was becoming a method of distraction to give her time to think about what she wanted to say. She had to cut this habit off at the roots. She whirled the glass and watched the water splash up the sides before setting it down and making eye contact with Daniel, forcing herself to think clearly.
"I know." she repeated. "So let's discuss the terms." -
They had dinner while discussing some of the basics, about what's the first moves of both guilds against the military and how the threat is getting bigger and bigger.
After the meal, Daniel picked up a glass of water and took a sip, holding the glass in his right hand.
"Miss tayiro, we got a week to do this."
Both guilds had agreed that making a good agreement wouldn't happen in one meeting. One week was the time they had agreed to give the representatives to discuss all the matters.
Dan slowly put the glass down and lowered his head, staring her in the eye.
"It's just I never expected to be meeting...someone like this. Now I just want to take all my time this week, and enjoy our little discussion." Daniel let a half smile, and kept looking at her in the eye.
"How about we go watch a movie before our little job tomorrow?" He took his shot. -
(.-. Guess we're skipping that, huh?)
Charlotte was taken aback by the sudden invitation. It was unexpected, to say the least, but not entirely unwelcome. She bit her lip, echoing his movement and taking a drink. She internally scolded herself for regressing back to the behavior, set the glass down and smiled at him.
"I don't see why not, Mr. Grayson, but I'm telling you now I can't sit through romantic comedies." -
(yeah. Is it bad???) (and how about i skip it to tomorrow night??)
-
(Whatever you like.)
-
(I'm asking you :/ )
-
(It's kinda hard to write something untill they meet next time? because nothing important has happened yet.)
-
(No, like I said, it's fine. Whatever you like.)
-
(Ok :/ I still feel you're kinda unhappy about it. I gotta go now, lets do the rest tomorrow. See you later son, and good night :) )
-
(Alright. Goodnight dad. Pleasant dreams.)

This time Dan had done his best not to be late, and he'd kinda succeded. It was only 6:05 and they were supposed to meet at 6, and the movie was starting at 6:30. 5 minutes was better than 20 at least.
The movies was something horror-romance about a bunch of teens who were chased by a serial killer. This may have sounded like a bad idea for a first "date", but knowing their dark history, it wasn't that bad.
"There you are, Miss Tayiro!"
Dan let out a big smile and walked over to the girl who was already sitting in the lobby, with popcorn in one hand and tickets in the other hand.
