His name was Lucky. I found him in the street. He was about a year old. I just got home from a very crappy thanksgiving in New York, and I found him dead. But I still have his cagemate, Aria. And my hedgehog, Addie. But he was my first pet. And now he's dead.

I suck at comforting, too. All I do is say, "There, there" and pat them on the head. They usually laugh.
