It's funny, when I was growing up, I was into everything. I never had the 'oh I only care about this character because they look and sound like me!' thing that some Americans seem to do. I just liked cool and different stories, whether it was white, black, latin, asian, native american, jewish, whatever. I loved all of it. x3
So I guess I never understood why so many companies and Americans try to make things so white. I just wasn't raised that way. .3. -

I was of course raised with having to be patriotic and loyal to my country, but at the same time they wanted us to learn the customs and everything else of everyone in the world. So when I came here it was like "Wait, so how is it that you guys say you can tolerate others when you barely know anything about them?" -
Aw, gracias. It's just the way it should be. The world wouldn't have half it's problems if people actually cared or at least were even neutral towards other people. I never thought it was that hard.
Exactly. xP That's the media's favorite thing. Trying to make young girls want to be a dumb Barbie doll, and the boys be some sort of buff Ken doll. It's sad, and boring to be quite honest. Taking away everyone's individuality is like painting the whole world one color. And they call us the crazy ones.
And definitely. I have to say, lately I have been really pissed off, because of how ignorant people are. It's like so many other places in the world people can speak more than one language, but the idea in America is 'Hey, we know English! It's number 1 language so I don't need to learn anything else!'. It makes it more difficult to truly learn a language here. :I

Yeah, I mean there are plenty of neutral places out there and look at them. They only care about their own problems and don't poke into everything else unless they're called for. If it was like that, plus a few more things we could tweek too, then this world would be much more peaceful. It's ridiculous that people have to worry about being killed/intolerance/ignorance/etc.
I think the imaging is much worse for the girls. Boys too, much mainly girls. We shouldn't want to fall under one certain look. We're all different. We don't have to be freakishly skinny and blonde and blue-eyed. We all have our beauty as individuals.
This is exactly why France makes fun of America, because they could only speak one language here. :I They try to teach you later how to speak another, but it's too late for that. Also, this country really shuns other languages that aren't English, and that's a problem. When I was little, I didn't speak Spanish so badly. Now that I became secluded from the language and refused to speak it for a while, I can't speak it as well. It's a really stupid thing that they can't accept other people's languages, and also to learn another as well.

I know. .3. It's sad, but at least it's good to know on a smaller level there are still good people out there. Just harder to find, since the idiots are much louder. x3
I agree, there's so much pressure to be 'perfect' but people have forgotten they are already deep down. Character is much more important than what's on the outside. xP
I know, I really don't understand it to be honest. Ignorance just gives me a headache these days. It's the same with politics and everything. You try to reason but they either don't want to hear it or don't get it.
xD It's even worse since I'm kinda tired so my typing must be atrocious.
