Matt shrugged. "Anyway, what's a fair maiden like you doing out here in the middle of the night?"

I laughed, "Fair maiden? I will admit that is very cute but this is the first time I've been called a maiden" I smiled staring up at the sky, "I like night"

"I see. A night owl, hunh?" Matt grinned. "Anywhere you're heading?"

I looked at him and smirked, "I guess you could say Owl. Nowhere in particular, know any place interesting?"

Matthew shrugged. "There's a place nearby, but no one but me is allowed there."

"Oh" I said softly. I shrugged, "To be honest I'm mostly looking for a good tree to sleep in, I don't like sleeping indoors"

"Well, there are a bunch of good sleeping trees out here, including a few hollowed out ones."

"Really? Maybe you could show me, I can't see that well at night" I said

"Oh. Uh, sure.." Matthew thought she was joking about sleeping in a tree. This wasn't a safe place for mortals to sleep at.

"Thanks, so which way do we go? I think the hollow ones will be great"

"That isn't a good idea..."

"Not the hollow ones? How about really high ones?"

"Even worse.." he said.

I laughed and smiled, "I'll be fine"

Matthew shook his head. "You don't understand. There are things that reside in this forest that are not safe."
