The guy is a total ass, and just as he's getting somewhere with his new girlfriend, he turns into a rat. He can still talk, but all of his old "friends" have ditched him because of it. Soon, the boy is lonely. But he knows how to change himself back. All he needs to do is get a kiss from his true love.
Around this time, the only person willing to be around ratboy is an unpopular, disliked girl. Because of the transformation, he slowly loses his negative traits. The two start to fall for each other.
I dunno. I was just thinking about how fun it'd be to be an animal. -
