Thread Topic: HEY BEAST!

I sighed and stretched as I got out of bed. I loved the mornings and was up earlier then everyone else in the neighborhood. I headed to the bathroom and took a shower.

I kept walking through the neighborhood. I looked at myself. 'God im covered in dirt and grime.' I needed to find a water hose to rinse off with.

After I was done with that, I got dressed and grabbed my book.

I looked around. 'Aha!' I grabbed a hose got my clothes off and washed. When i was done i got dressed again.

I headed out the door with an apple. I put it in my pocket, waiting to eat it for when I reached the park. I walked by a couple houses, then saw a movement in the backyard.

"Thank God im clean!" I slid my shirt on. I walked around the corner of the house and i ran into some girl.

I stopped and stared at him. I didn't know what to do. I studied him quickly and noticed the scars and burns up and down his arms and a few fading bruises on his face.

"Um ... hey." I said. she noticed my little souviners from my parents. "Im William." I said, extendin my hand to her.

I took his hand gently, fear of hurting him clear in my mind. "Are you okay?" I knew that was a dumb question, but still.

"Well...yea i guess. I mean it hurts now and again but...im fine i guess." I smiled weakly.

I set my book on the mailbox next to me and came closer to him. My fingers skimmed over his injuries, barely touching him. I was taking care to be extra gentle.

When she rubbed my scars and everything it felt ... good. And good isnt a sensation ive felt in a long time. "Its ok. They dont hurt unless i think about them."

I traced a scar on his arm with my fingertip. "Who did this to you?"

I hung my head down and looked into her eyes. I pulled my head up. "My...parents." I sighed. "Thats why im here. Im not going back to them." I could feel my hate and resentment well up inside of me.

"Omigod," I whispered. I rubbed his shoulder gently. "My name is Rose and I can help you. My family isn't going to mind. They have guests over all the time."
