The next morning, they were awoken by Christopher's mother's clanging in the kitchen accompanied by the aroma of pancakes and bacon.

"Huh...??" Jenifer sat up groggily.

Christopher yawned and peeled open his eyes. "'Morning," he said quietly, stretching. "Mom's probably making breakfast."

"Ugh." Said Jenifer, lying back down. "School." She said the word with venom in her voice while she made a face.

"Come on, it'll be fun," he replied, slowly shifting to his feet.

"I wish I could believe you." She said.

Christopher smiled. "We could always leave if it isn't working out," he suggested. "Come on, we should go get ready."

Jenifer sighed. "Fine." She said, getting up.

(That evil feeling when you have a plan in place...)
He led her up the steps and into the kitchen.
"Good morning," his mother offered a slight smile. "Did you sleep well?" Christopher nodded in response, snatching a strip of bacon from the plate on the table. -
(Dun, dun, DUUUUNN.)
Jenifer nodded slightly as well, yawning a bit before taking a piece of toast. -
(Musical accompaniments... They are grand. :P)
The boy ate the bacon in a few swift bites. "I'm going to head up and shower," he said before walking out of the room.
His mother turned to Jenifer. "You're welcome to use the shower too, after Christopher is done." -
"Thanks." Said Jenifer.

(The question is whether I should carry out my plan now or when they're at school... :/)
Christopher climbed the stairs and entered the bathroom. He took a towel from the closet inside and started the water. The heat of it fogged up the mirrors and steamed the room. -

Jenifer sat quietly, not really hungry.
