I looked at him and smiled. "You say that a lot."

"I guess I do"

"Yeah." I took his hand in mine. "Do you think something could've come from the light?"

"It's possible"

I looked out the window again. I heard a rustle in the bushes. I readied my bow and notched an arrow, waiting.

I watched her, in awe of her awesomeness.

I kept an eye on the bush and it rustled again. I gave out a bird call I had practiced since I was five. I didn't need to use my hands.

"Wow" I said to myself

Something ran out of the bush. It was a kid. And not just any kid. I dropped the bow and backed away from the window as fast as I could.

"what is it?"

"He was dead. He had no heartbeat," I whispered, backing to the other side of the treehouse.

I walked over to her "What?"
