"Sure," I said, my cheeks reddening. I wondered if he would hug me if the situation presented itself. "The storm has gone. You think we could stop and take a rest?"

"Sure." Coincidentally, there was a rest stop. He pulled into it.

"Can I go to the bathroom?" I didn't really need to go, but I thought this might work.

He shrugged. "I don't care."

"Kay. What are you going to do if I run away?"

"What do you think I'll do?" He looked over at her. "Anyway, we're nowhere near a town and you couldn't outrun me."

"Well, okay, Mr. I can do anything I want to because I'm a badass assassin."

"I'm not an assassin." He grinned.

"Well, in my mind, you are," I said as I unbuckled myself. I got out of the car and looked around. There weren't any other cars here.

Really? The concept seemed odd to him. He'd do well at it, for sure.

I walked to the bathroom and did my business. I then went and washed my hands.

He sat in the car, waiting.

I walked back to the car. It was really cold outside so at least I wouldn't be faking that part. I rushed over to the car and got in, slamming the door. "God, it is freezing out there and your jacket isn't helping anymore."

"You should've brought your jacket, then." He looked over at her.

"Well, that wasn't my fault. You're the one who picked me up and forgot my jacket." I shivered, still chilled. My teeth chattered.
