1. Combine like terms. 8x - 23x = -15x
2. GEMDAS (used for equations)
3. No grouping symbols or exponents GEMDAS
4. Multiply/divide
5. 15 goes into 240 14 times. Bring the negative symbol because a negative with a positive becomes negative.

Sorry if I suck at explainations. :/ What math do you take?
