Oh great. Stephenie thought, but nodded.

Mai got up. "So... we're supposed to practice this scene, then?" she turned to Kawa and Stephenie.

"I-I guess." she said, trying to sound confident.

"Okay..." she found her place in the script and read. "Demeter. There's something I've been meaning to tell you... Something important."

Steph felt uncomfortable. The two other girls seemed nervous, and she felt as if she were intruding...icky feeling. "Okay"she said.

"What is it? Is something the matter?"

"Yes. It seems as though I haven't been completely honest with the other Gods and Goddesses, but especially you." Mai felt really nervous.

"Hestia, what do you mean? You may just be the most honest among us." Kawa swore her heart could be heard for miles, pounding away at her chest like a drum.

Mai bowed her head, in character. She closed her eyes and sighed. "I do not love my brothers with whom I have had children with. I do not love the mortal men.... I love you, K-" Mai stopped herself, silently cursing in her head. "-Demeter..."

Stephenie waited and watched, feeling thier uncomfort. She could sympathize....

"And I l-love you, Mmmmmmmm-Hestia." Kawa said.

Mai strode closer to Kawa, stroking her hair lightly. Her heart was racing. This is it... she thought. She leaned in, her face just centimeters from Kawa's.
