I ended up still going to the tournament today and all I can say is "GGs. Got em." 🤣😭
What were they expecting? I had on my smash shirt and a hoodie and my ita bag full of Love and Deepspace, Splatoon, and Sonic merch, all color coordinated. I probably didn't look like the person that would wipe the floor with them. I would be nicer about it, but I have a valid reason for the "know your place" energy.
Not too many people showed up, so it was mainly me against a guy I cant stand. He showed up with sweat energy, brought his own equipment and was doing ATHLETIC STRETCHES like he was about to run a marathon. We started and my controller I brought wasn't working. He wanted me to continue the match despite that. We ended up starting over. He thought he'd get away with spamming and running so he wouldn't die. The first time he got a stock on me, he taunted. You don't taunt in this sort of tournament setting. Bad sportsmanship. You dont play chicken and wait for others to do all the work, either. He did all the above. But he still got his ass beat. At some point, when I chose Sephiroth, I three stocked him in under 2 minutes. Nobody else joined afterwards. It was only after my 5th win that I told him I'd competed in a tournament before and suddenly he had excuses. "I haven't played in forever." "I dont know this character." Bro, i was here when you were telling the staff about how you were playing last night and how you play with your brother all the time and how you main Cloud and Pit. What happened, man? Why you running?
Final score was 20 to 2. 😭 -
