Thread Topic: Panic/Anxiety Attacks
-
I made a thread about this a while ago but never got any answers. It's becoming a frequent and serious problem for me and even worse it's affecting people I care about. Anything you guys use to help calm down would be really really helpful, thank you.
-
Try not to excite yourself to much and keep as calm as possible at all times!
-
Looking for ways to do that, as I said above.
-
Lets see whats soothing to you?
-
Think I'll wait for some older users to help with this if they don't mind. Thannks though.
-
Watch that while breathing in for eight seconds, holding for seven seconds, then breathing out for eight seconds. -
That's surprisingly relaxing oh my god
thank you thank you thank you -
If you feel anxiety, I just take a few deep breaths. Sometimes I'll ask the teacher if I can leave class for a moment to calm down. But if you can't just sit and close your eyes and breathe, slow and deep.
I dunno if I'm helping any. But I hope you find something that works out! -
Sure! The breathing part always helps me, though I've always figured it was just as much the counting as the breathing.
-
Okay, thank you both very much! The counting seems to work as something to focus on enough so that I can breath and breathing is good. Thank you both again
-
Curling up in a corner of my closet seemed to help me.

I hug my teddy bear. I also smell him, which may seem weird. He smells like cigarette smoke, which I find comforting. Try finding a stuffed animal with comforting scent?
