Depression is a serious thing. I know a lot of people everywhere have it. People on here have it. (I'm not calling anyone out, I'm not making fun).
As you know depression can cause self harm, and suicide. In 1997, suicide was the 8th leading cause of death in the United States.
If you are having thoughts of suicide, please call this number.

Thank you so much for this.
-
Do you know what it's like to call that number?
-
No. In all honesty, I'm not depressed. It may not be fun, but I wanna help.
-
I do. I'm not depressed, but I do know what it's like to call that number and I can tell you it's not for everyone.
-
Well, Mini, this was really kind of you.
It's good to be serious sometimes. -
What happens when you call the number?
-
I understand, and respect that. But for people that have never tried to call should.
-
And if they aren't comfortable calling it, it's fine, I just don't people to take their lives

When I called it, the man asked me where I lived and directed me to a person in my area. The guy I talked to asked me the usual questions; why I felt that way, how many attempts, do I self harm, have I seen a professional, etc. I think the guy I talked to was new because he sounded slightly nervous at one point. He would stop talking periodically and I would hear him typing something. I was scared he would have someone come to my house, so I gave very general details about my location. He told me I should write a letter to the person whom had caused most of my feelings, describing how they had affected me. He gave me other advice, as well. Like I said, he was kind of nervous at somenparts, and that was unsettling.
Sorry if it wasn't too specific, that time is kind of hazy in my memory. -
No, that's a good reference to have. It sounds kind of useless to me, if that's how it goes.
-
Did his advice help at all?
I'm sure your right. If he sounded nervous, he probably was new. -
I've heard of cases in which the person felt worse.
For a short period of time, yes, but only one thing he said. "You should give yourself a chance to live before you, ya know, try and...take your own life."
Lol yeah.
