Do you happen to know this?
Find the solution of the system:
4x + 2y = 1
2x + y = 3 -
yes I do I think
hold on let me get out paper to do the math -
Okay so:
Step one: Make one of the x or y values the opposite from the other equation.
You started out with:
4x + 2y = 1
2x + y = 3
You need to make the x or the y the same value. For this one, they'll both end up being the same because you need to distribute a negative 2 (-2) for the bottom equation. Why? 2x times -2 gives you -4x, which is what you need.
4x + 2y = 1
-2 [2x + y = 3]
Distribute the -2. Your problem will then look like this:
4x + 2y = 1
-4x - 2y = -6
Step 2: Complete the problem by eliminating the x or y value that is the same and solve. You will either have no solution, one solution, or infinitely many solutions.
4x + 2y = 1
-4x - 2y = -6
4x + 2y= 1
-4x - 2y= -6
0 = -5
No solution -
hope you see this ;u; didn't mean to take so long

OH WHAT THAT'S SO EASY I REMEMBER THAT WTF
