I need an answer to this :
(2x + 5)2 =
= (2x)2 + 2(2x)(5) + 52
= 4x2 + 20x + 25
2x is a
5 is b -
I love to help but I am probbly quite a few grades below you so that looks like giberish.

I think I can understand,
(2x + 5)2 =
= (2x)2 + 2(2x)(5) + 52
= 4x2 + 20x + 25
It is the (a+b)^2...... btw, ^2 means squared.
since it is squared, to make it easier to count, we can times the ^2 with the numbers in brackets.
it is the rule that if you count it in two ways, the final will be the same.
so, to make it easier, count it like this.
(a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
Change the a and b with the real number. Also,for the 2ab, it means 2 a b
The second statement is correct but, i don't think that your third statement correct. It seems, unusual -
