I REALLY, REALLY WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS.
While I don't live in Rapides Parish, the rules at my school are very similar and gender-biased. Girls have no limit to how long or short their hair can be, but boys' hair can't be past their shoulders in the back or past their eyebrows in the front. Also, girls are allowed to have 1-2 piercings on their ears, while boys aren't allowed to have any. We have so, so many ridiculous rules but these anger me a lot and I wish someone would change them. -

I don't know how. I also don't think my parents would approve, or that many others would agree. I live in an ignorant area.

I'm not sure what's worse: that story, or the fact a girl was kicked out of school because she got cancer and lost all of her hair due to treatment.
But, you should write a complaint to the school board. Maybe see if any of your friends agree to get a second person thingy or whatever you call them. -
Oh, I see. You can go online and type in "start a petition " on google. Many sites will show up. As for your parents, can't you talk to them about it and convince them? Maybe a teacher might help.

Write a complaint to the school board? How? It'd probably get ignored.
Okay. They'd just say it's unimportant. They probably agree with the rules. Even if I could convince them, I'd never be able to take action. I never actually do anything. My mom and I might talk about it for who knows how long, I might beg her, I might remind her that we've yet to do anything, but I have never actually done anything big. No vacations, no petitions, no concerts, no rallies, no anything. I doubt a teacher would help as they'd likely be as ignorant, if not more ignorant than the others.

Well, you write a letter, put it in a mail box with your school boards address on it and bada bing bada boom, you've sent a complaint to the school board. Well, it's an official place, so they at least have to write a reply. -
