I want to debate the topic "gay affection should be considered ethically right" or see opinions on it. I'm 50% sure religion will come into it. Where do I put it?

I'd say religion. That focuses more on people's views and politics focuses on laws.

I think politics because that's more debatey. And the Garden is more about religion, and if you're not even sure religion will be brought up, then it shouldn't go there. Besides, if you put it in the Garden, you'll basically only get religious thoughts back.
