When Ms. Lisa isn't looking, I plan to throw it away or stuff it in my bag and dispose of it then. I know I'm supposed to respect other people's religions and s---, but it really bothers me whenever I see it.

It's not your cross. Not your property. Not your right to get rid of it. If you want to do something, hang another religious piece next to it. Take a picture of the two, and report it if yours is taken down.
