Dark- "I have a character idea". When, I posted that, I feel like I was basically saying your characters suck. I just wanted him to take a character idea I made and make it be already.

Maybe, you should have tried a different approach. Something like, "Hi! I'm ____. Listen, I love your characters. I was just wondering if you'd like to hear one of my character ideas out? It'd be great to see your response, bad or good. :)" -
