my dad doesn't even know my birthday wow okay
We were at the dentist and stuff and they asked for my birthday twice, the first time he told me to tell them and the second time he got it wrong.
You guys can say that this is a guy thing but lemme make a list of men who know my name.
-My uncle, who always gets ready a week before to make sure my aunts have time to go with me and celebrate (since he himself is busy)
-My other uncle, who suffers from some disabilities and can't read too well, yet he has taken the effort to make note of what those marks on the calendar meant.
-The rest of my uncles who live here in the U.S.
-My four year old cousin who always says at his older brother's birthday parties "Tet's (that's what he calls me) birthday is next!"
-My other cousins. Another cousin is in college and he takes the time to tell me in person.

-All of my close male friends know it
-For god's sake, my music teacher who for the past few years has had at least six hundred names to remember knows when my birthday is and he even goes out of the way to do something special for me. He doesn't even remember some of the names of the other students he has yet he knows my birthday.
Say all you want that this is the way men are. But my father, my f---ing dad, has no goddamn excuse when everyone else who knows me knows it. -

All I can think is he might be stressed out or overwhelmed and accidentally forgot. I once forgot how to spell the word "paper" one day after studying so hard. It's embarrassing. I mean it's important for loved ones to remember these things, but maybe that's what happened. I don't know. But you're awesome, Aribewwy and no one should forget you. :c
