You have to consider the location. They are in the United States as well as in an area where it rains often. So if people are pale it makes sense. Other characters aren't mentioned often anyways. If tiny characters are Caucasian in the film then whatever, it's not specified in the book.

I hate every twilight thing in the goddamn world. vampires do not sparkle like goddamn pixies. They are meant to be feared damn it, not fangirled by damn teenagers. The main girl shows no damn emotion through the whole movie.
