I don't know if there IS a reason. If there is one, though, I'd say it's to keep the ecosystem running. Which we as a species have done a terrible job of so far. -

I would think it was a scam.
I don't have a crush. But if I did, I would untie him/her/they/ze/other pronoun. And let them go. Notice how you, or the dare, assume I am either a straight female or a gay male. -
