It's how people deal with things.

It was a real question. I'm not trying to be mean. My friend cuts and I'm just so sad that she does. And she tries to cover it up, but I knew the whole time, from the very beginning.

There are 3 main reasons:
1-They're emo and they think they must do it to be an emo or be sad
2-They're emo and they do it for some unknown reason
3-They're not emo and they do it for some unknown reason. -

They seek attention most of the time. Because they lack of it.

I didn't mean to make it offensive.
Unknown reasons I mentioned,might be:
They want to commit suicide but they fail.
They are very sad and think cutting will help them.
They like cutting. -
Sometimes for attention, but other times just because it's spur of the moment or they think they can cover it,

RainTread Newbieviktor- i have a friend they say "it helps me calm down" most of the time. so there's a reason
vega- i don't doubt some do, but please don't generalize like that -
A few of my friends get high when they cut O.o

When she says it helps her calm her,she thinks it'll help her so basically what I said.

I doubt anybody would cut for attention,there are many better ways.Cutting yourself for attention...?That's very shallow.
