Falling in love

Mine: A boy named David has come of age and has become a knight. The king tells him to search for him a wife. He falls in love with your character, and come to an impasse: obey his king, or obey his heart?

Occupation: Lady in waiting in neighboring kingdom -

I roam across the vast countryside on my black stallion, my brown hair patting against my face. My king has told me to find him a wife, so I decide to look in a distant kingdom for a fair maiden. -
Laurel sighed. "Alright, what is it, your highness? Tell me the secret..."
The little princess, only twelve years of age and just starting to become a young lady, giggled. "I... I have a crush on...," she paused, leaning in to whisper into Laurel's ear, "the jester!"
Laurel rolled her eyes, but ended up laughing as well. If the jester wasn't her brother, she wouldn't have found it quite as amusing. Despite her oath of secrecy, she couldn't wait to tell him about his little admirer. -
After days of travelling, David finally found a town. As it was nearing dusk at his arrival, he looked for an inn at which to spend the night.

"Well, your highness, I'm afraid it's time for bed." Laurel stood and walked over to the wardrobe in the corner of the room, pulling a nightgown out and walking over to the princess.
"But I'm not tired!" the princess protested, stifling a yawn. Laurel shepherded the girl away from her bed and helped her change into her nightwear. -
After the inn was found, the fare was paid, and the horse was parked, David went to his room.
