  We could do this plot...
  
  A small town in the 1980's has a huge radioactive explosion. Only one girl survives: bearing the worst mark of all, fresh memories. A family moves into the town years later. The parents of the family used to live here, and are stunned by its emptiness. One of the children wanders into the woods and meets the loner... and we can take it from there.
