She sounded nice, I wasn't afraid anymore, she was different from my parents

"Here. Would you care to see your room?" She said as she stood. She reached out her hand gently and nicely. Conner smiled.

I was about to take her hand, but forgot about a huge scar that was on mine, I didn't want her to see ( it is an old wound, but it was once infected )

Conner whispered, "William, she'll be fine. She understands." -
I shook her hand, but it was rather weak, I just wanted to sleep, it was really really late, a lot of things happened in not a long time ago

The lady held onto Williams hand as she walked the boys to their room. It was pretty darn big.

Conner stared in awe. What kind of luxury was this? -
( XD weird timing, I was looking at OMG facts and autocorrect things )
I didn't know what to say, it was much bigger then my bedroom -

Conner ran his hand along the oak-wood nightstand that stood under a bright,vase kind of lamp. If he didn't know this was reality, he just might have assumed the whole ordeak was just a frivolous dream. -

I looked at myself in a mirror, I was hoping there wouldn't be another time where I get beaten up -

Still attempting to soak in everything thathad taken place in the last few hours, he stole a seat on one of the well cared for twin beds. He held his arms to his chest, pondering their good fortune. -

I looked over at my brother, he seemed to be thinking about something, I didn't know what it was, or if he was ok -

In that short period of thoughts, Conner came to the stark realization that they were lucky. Other children could still be wasting away in abusive households, nearly driven to insanity due to the pain. He desired greatly to aid them in escaping and in their way to the road of recovery. But what could he do now that they were here?
