Is this idea good? Two brothers live in a home with abusive parents, I am wondering if I could be the younger one ( maybe once or twice, my character runs away )

Personality: He is pretty quiet, poetic, kind, protective of his brother. -

Looks: has lots of wounds, short messy black hair, blue eyes, and is rather weak and small

A tear went down my face, I looked up at my dad, he was holding a knife

That escalated quickly.
Conner stared wide-eyed at his monster of a father, who stood before his brother. He held back his tears, biting his lip. -
( I wanted an unboring beginning )
"You are no good, nothing but weak" he said in a threatening way, he suddenly hit me right on the face, I couldn't hold it back anymore, I started crying hard -

Conner couldn't stand it. He screamed. "Get away from him!!" His fists were clenching and unclenching in rapid succession. -

He looked over at my older brother, "GO AWAY IDIOT" he yelled, he turned and hit me again, I was trying to slowly get away without him noticing, but I was caught -
Conner cringed. He mustered up just enough courage to attempt pulling his father away from his younger brother.
