"Michael..." I said, unsure of what I had just seen. -
I looked into her eyes, sensing that something was wrong. "Perry, what happened? Why...what made you so angry?"

"My dream... but I don't think I was angry..." I began. "In the dream, my hands were on fire. I was in pure blackness. All I could see was
my hands on fire. A voice told me: This gift is great, but it will bring terrible things." -

"Perry, what are we going to do?" I sat up, still facing her. "We can't just be on the run forever. We have to do something !" -
"Like what? We're 16, Michael! What are we going to do, go buy a house and get jobs?" I snorted. "I don't think so."

Suddenly, my face went slack. Slowly, I said. "What if we did get jobs? Alayna will probably let us crash at her place for a while. I can sleep upstars in one of ehr sisters' rooms, and you could too if you wanted. She had two sisters, and there stuff is gone."

"First, figure out why your hands burst into flames. That is what we should focus on for now." I looked her, and half-smiled. "But buying a house actually seems like a good idea. When we need one," I added hastily. "We've got to at least have somewhere we can always go, in case something happens."

I nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I could go out, and look for something to do, see if there's anything out there today." And I could look for a new car, I thought. -
I rolled my eyes. "Isn't it obvious how to control that? I nodded. Let me get dressed, be back here in five."
