I nod, "fun," Isay sarcastically.

"Oh yeah, its a ball," I joke.

"in football, we had to run uphill, three miles to the sand dunes once a week, then run back, going downhill. And the hill was pretty steep," I explain.

"For softball we had to run up a steep hill, but we also had to push a tire that had been in the sun all day long. Talk about fun," I say.

"sounds like a blast," I say, streaching my arms and waiting.

"Best time youll ever have," I say sarcastically.

I smile and laugh.

I smile too. "I put up with it though. I like being team captain. Makes me feel like Im good for something and important to someone," I say honestly. I look at my feet.

"yeah, I was captain for basketball, and second in charge for football, even though the quarterback had massive ego." I say.

I laugh. "Most quarterbacks do. What position are you?" I ask.

"running back," I say.

I stand there awkwardly. "Oh," I say.

I shrug, "Not all that bad,"

"No, its a good position," I say. The paine stung my voice. I look out the window.
