I looked down at Daniel. I smiled at him stretching. -
(back)
I see you out of the corner of my eye. -
(That was rather quick)
I look through the window and see a bird flying through the trees. It chirps as it moves farther and deeper into the woods. -
(I eat fast)
"so what do we run? Around a track? the block or what?" I ask. -
(I gathered)
I look back at him. "Track. Which kinda sucks cause its a red dirt track -
"Better than the gravel one back west." I say, thinking back.

Not when you're wearing a white shirt and white shoes, I think to myself. "Yeah I guess," I say.

"it was bad, but mostly we ran around the block the school was on. Mile and a quarter run." I say.

"Nice," I say.

"and you had to do it in eight minutes or less for a passing grade, not really a problem for me."

"In basketball, we have to run a mile in under seven minutes or the whole team has to redo it... and there are some slow ones in there. Wasn't too fun," I say.

"ooh, yeah, that was the same for me too, but we didn't run miles, just lines. Half running, quarter drills, and quarter scrims."

"Yeah, we did snakes and horses," I said.

"Snakes and horses?" I ask.

"Horses are kinda like suicides. Snakes are when you run the lines of the football field," I explain.
