The younger of the two looked surprised again, but alas he got over it. "Well, I'm 20 years old. I'm an only child but I think my parents find me strange so they kind of ignore me. Oh, and I'm single. You?"

"I'm 21, and have two older brothers. My parents are more interested in them, considering one is a doctor and one is a star football player. I'm more of the weird artistic type. I'm single too." Roka slightly blushed.

Kumiko tried to ignore the comment about him being single, though it brought him some interest. "Oh, well that's nice. Minus the parents thing. Sometimes they just suck."

"Yeah, the whole playing favorites thing sucks. I'm sorry your parents are similar."

He laughed a bit. "They don't play favorites, they just ignore me. But yeah, whatever, that's okay."

"Well that's still not right. You seem like an awesome person to know." He didn't realize those words slipped out, and blushed.

His face turned bright pink, and he just stared at the other boy. ".. Thank you.." he whispered.

"No problem." Roka replied lightly, and looked to see another customer walk into the shop. -

A couple mothers came in with littler kids, while Roka manned the counter and got ready to fulfill orders. -
Kumiko shouted the orders as they came, making sure that those working on them knew what they should be doing.

Roka got the candy and ice cream and gave it to those who ordered them. He smiled softly, getting the hang of things quickly.

Noobs got some skill. Wonder when I can tell him I've been playing him, Kumiko thought, observing Roka as he worked.

The happy customers cleared out or sat at some tables. Roka breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Kumiko. "Busy, huh?"

"Yeah," he nodded. He saw that the customers were happy, and that pleased him.
